both are fat as ****, dont have heart enough to train. arreolas skills are pathetic and chambers pretty much quit against povetkin. who himself is a bit chubby, decent fighter. but nothing special. dimitrenko and boytsov i havent seen enough of. virchis im not at all impressed with. chagaev im not at all impressed with eighter. haye neighter.. his speed and power is overrated. he has no stamina, bad balance, throws wide punches..
in general im simply not impressed with the division. its not what it used to be.

do u acctually watch boxing or do u just read the outcome and make your assesment from that? no way anyone can think todays american HWs are as good as the ones from the past.
there were eastern europeans in the olympics back then. still the likes of foreman, ali and frazier beat their ass and all won gold. read up on where their oponents were from.. the americans ruled the amateurs (europeans involved) and then went on to rule the pros the same way.
1) Olympics
2) Amateurs
3) some cruiser or sub-cruiser performances
Who cares about performance at the Olympics? Who cares about Amateur bouts? They have different rule sets for fighting and judging. Who cares about sub-cruisers?
Anyway, let's actually check boxing (heavyweight) at the Olympic games:
1960: Italy wins (Czech 3rd)
1964: Frazier wins (East bloc wins everything from featherweight to middleweight)
1968: Foreman wins (USSR second)
1972: Cuba wins (Romania second)
1976: Cuba wins (Romania second)
1980: Cuba wins (USSR second)
Except for the win of Foreman (who IMO is the best boxer of the 70ies) I don't see any clear dominance of US-boxers over eastbloc boxers.
Soviets weren't allowed to compete professionally, and that was mainly a political decision by the Soviet bloc.

They never "ruled over europeans" because they hardly ever faced East-Europeans. Add to it that they hardly ever fought OUTSIDE of the US and you see that the 50ies-70ies are a boxing hype machine consisting mainly of locals fighting locals.

Why do you write "u" instead of you? Do you realize that makes you seem to be either a little child or a ******ed adult?

Those who are heavily influenced by the media are childish. They believe every word that haters like Max Kellerman and Teddy Atlas say, and repeat it like little parrots. Such people are naive, like the children who were led by the pied piper.Last edited by The Hammer; 06-16-2009, 09:50 AM.
