Can we at least give Clottey his props as an elite fighter?

I don't know man, I see williams as a Jr MW or MW now. He's just a damn tall guy, rangy, and with serious stamina. He can campaign at WW, but what does it prove? That a big skilled guy beats little skilled guys? It's better for him legacy wise to take car of guys similar in size and challenge those who have advantages over him. The money will come.

I didn't see any elite fighters in that ring last night.

If that's what you call elite, you should raise the bar...a lot.

You'd think Clottey was the champ if you didn't know better.

Too bad your definition of "elite" fighter wants nothing to do with either of these warriors.

Clottey has elite level boxing skills but he seems to lack the mentality of a great fighter.

Not trying to offend anybody since my current favorite fighter Glen Johnson has had the same problems as Clottey does. He is content on doing just enough but often it is not enough.

I understand, he should have fought his ass off in the 12th round. I think he was trying to make the round go by faster, because he felt he had already won. Just completely uncalled for.

Maybe, Marg didn't have plaster on his chin and Cotto didn't seem capable of stopping him. Margs volume is tough for a guy like Cotto, especially late, when he seems to tire a bit. It'd be the fight I'd go for if I were him though.
That's the point. Margarito's never seemed effected much by Cotto's punches, and his pressure was unstoppable for Cotto. Just to tough a man, tougher chin than Clottey's.

Since the second CQ fight he hasn't looked like a tall skeleton to me.

But hey, that's just my observation.

He definitely is - if he could muster a killer instinct and close the show - he would be a champion especially last night

I think he is elite but I do have one thing I think he needs to change.he complains too much to the referee & he has had a history of making excuses.injuries happen but don't use them as a crutch for why you lost.it's better to lose in grace than cry & *****.if anyone watched librado andrades interview after the bute robbery will know what I mean by class.
