Can we at least give Clottey his props as an elite fighter?

Why didn't he defend the one he won fighting Judah?

I voted yes. He fought an extremely close fight against one of the top 2 or 3 fighters in arguably the best division in boxing. Against a guy that would be around #5 p4p if not for some loaded gloves.

He didn't need to be whining though. I have a hard time with that. If he was old like Hop and trying to suck some wind here and there I'd of found it acceptable, not here.

He's elite by default. There's not much meat left at the top of WW. Dude's biggest win is against Zab, but still gets hyped more in a loss against Marg than anything else. He looks like the type who will fall back when the going gets tough every time. He's just durable and tough.

He's not beating Mosley the way he fights.

The guy is a tank, and boxed much better than I expected... would give anyone at 147 hell, definitely an elite fighter.

10 1/2 months later. You don't think he coulda squeezed in a defense of his first title?

I think he is an elite fighter, but he will not be at the top of the class because he fades later rounds. He was winning against margarito who is not to hard to out box in the early rounds then lost in the later ones, just like against Cotto he was winning early on but the last 3 rounds he wasnt *****g up as good of offense which was winning him the fight.
I gave the last three rounds to Cotto and is also why I thought Cotto won. If he would have kept walking down Cotto and hitting him with those hards shots instead of trying to box him in the last rounds he would have won.
