Pacquiao vs. Cotto is Eyed For November by Arum

I wouldn't put our champ Manny Pacquiao in a disadvantageous position if that ever happens. Cotto is a much bigger fighter. It should be at a catch weight of 143 or 144 lbs. Cotto would have great advantage if it would be at 147 lbs. Cotto is currently in his prime and at 147 lbs. is definitely more dangerous than Dela Hoya, Mayweather or Mosley. I trust coach Roach would not compromise his fighter, for the sake of money.

Well if that's the case Fanny Pac should fight the guys at 140 instead of getting WW's to drain.

He should make the same money....since he's supposed to be such a huge star.

it's not the same. cotto would be bullying pac from round 1, pac is a small framed man. cotto would steamroll pacquiao in a couple of rounds, he would embarras him. Clottey is a really tough and rugged fighter, that's why no one can look good beating him. Cotto beat him with 1 eye.

You still don't see it. On the weigh in they will be weighting the same. Pacquiao is strong as an ox. He will not be bullied by Cotto like he wasn't bullied by Hatton. Speed kills remember?

Please, it's not like Pac is forcing them to fight him. Mosley and Cotto have come out and said they want to fight Manny even at a catchweight, so they are not worried about weight draining, if they were they wouldn't be interested.

I said on a post months back that Cotto is too slow and he gets hit entirely too much and was laughed at. It seems now, many other people on this site agrees with this same assessment. For this reason, If I we're Cotto, though I understand the money sense of the sport and anytime you get a chance to cash in, you should do it, if it is the right thing to do, I would give Clottey a rematch before going after SSM (in which I don't see him giving him a rematch), Pacman, Floyd or and other big names out there. Miguel should get and deserves lots of credit for his courageous performance but it seemed pretty clear to me that "The Margarito fight" still affects him. This is also why I would not want to see him in the ring with Margarito again. When a guy knows their is nothing you can do to hurt him, I believes it sets you up for a KO quicker the second time around. This is why I believe we are seeing a more cautious Cotto, and against SSM, Pacman and Floyd, you're at a disadvantage. Another factor could be the fallout from the incident with his trainer/uncle. How much did this contribute to his performance last night?

Arum wants to make this fight. Still, it's Manny's final decision and not Bob who will he fight. If this fights happen I hope there would be no catch weight. Many say Manny will be in a big disadvantage because Cotto is too big. Style make fights, right?

Watch Corley-Cotto. Corley was 140 at fight nite and Cotto @ 157. Corley almost knocked out Cotto but he lost.

Bob Arum is dying to match Pacquiao with Cotto. What happened to waiting until the Mayweather - Marquez fight. Bob doesn't want the Mayweather fight, as he clearly said he wants Cotto - Pacquiao.

Anyone find it funny that the fight night wieght was not shown last night? I think they are trying to make pacman/cotto and didnt want to show how much cotto can rehidrate before a fight.

I still think Pac is too small for cotto, but cotto is looking very beatable.

Pac Man and Cotto is not a good idea.

I can't stand here and write smack about Need Money Mayweather taking on an undersize opponent and then approve of Cotto taking on Pac Man.

Folks, Pac Man fought a old and dehydrated ODH (Which in my opinion Cotto would have KO) and Hatton at 140 (Which Cotto would have also beaten).

At 140 Many would have a great chance at a victory.. but at 147... Cotto is t0o savvy and too big. And I don't believe in catch weight... fight in your own division!

Pac Man and Cotto are my two favorite fighters - maybe that's the reason why I don't want to see them matched up - but boxing fans tend to bet on guts, feelings and they have fallen in love with the Hatton KO.

Cotto is no Hatton.... Cotto in so over the hill Oscar. Cotto is a solid 147 with wins over Clottey, Mosley and it took cement to stop him.
