Are you drunk? This fight is huge, pac will get 65% & a chance at a 7th title in a 7th weight class. Another dumb post, par for the course.

Cotto needs to do two things before he gets a chance to fight Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. He needs to either give Clottey or Mosley a rematch and beat them convincingly outside of Madison Square Garden. And I understand why Mosley doesn't want to fight Cotto again. I don't blame Shane one bit. He isn't scared of the guy, he just knows that he has to knock him out or he won't win. If a Mosley-Cotto rematch happens, it needs to take place in Vegas with a close to even split of the money.

        pointless fight?

        it's a 140 champ against a 147 champ.

cotto and pac can't fight each other but it's okay for a former 147 champ to fight a 135 champ?

        come on now , v.

That Fight last night...Cotto got lucky 'coz Clottey is too much of a drama queen to begin with. Just fight, keeps acting up, smirking, trying to do a rope a dope... no explosiveness whats so ever. even I would not give it to Clottey. Both are too stationary and slow..Pac will eat them up both

              Good observation!!!
I was looking forward to that information and it was never given, according to Bob (from HBO) in New York they don't weigh in for night fight, what he did mentioned that Clottey in a previous fight at 147 came in almost at 170 and for a fight at 140 he weighed 160 fight night, but they didn't mentioned nothing about Cotto.

It's good for other fighters go for a payday but not for Cotto????

Cotto already has a victory against Mosley and Clottey, and fought them when nobody wanted to face them, and if he has the opportunity to land a big payday he should. Keep in mind that Pacman or PBF will present a bigger payday for Cotto than anybody else. Pacman is already talking about 2 more fights and stepping away from boxing, so this might be only shot at Pacman and if he wins there will be no other fight that people would want to see than PBF against Cotto (obviously if PBF wins also vs JMM).

Now if he losses he still has the rematch options out there to come back to, but after making some good money on the way.

Same as if Pacman losses to anybody soon, he will still have the option for a good fight with JMM III

That should be how Cotto's advisors should be looking as his next steps and use Mosley-Clottey as a hidden card under his sleeve to use it when he feels he needs it.

After i posted the previous information a new thread came out stating that PBF-Marguez has been postponed due to a Rib injury on PBF.

                    This will do 2 things:
                    1) It will put Cotto closer to a fight against Pacman
                    2) Pending if he can get out of the signed contrct to fight PBF it could give JMM a chance for that 3rd fight that alot of fans has been asking for.

I guess this will all depend on how damaged is PBF Ribs and how much time will he need to come back.

Cotto really needs to let that eye heal before getting into the ring with Pac, if it opens up against pac he will tear it up, huge disadvantage for Cotto.
