His defense is nothing more than getting hit running and imitating that margorito head movement that he only uses like every four rounds.

Who has looked good against Clottey? Nobody. Who will dare fight him after this fight? Sadly, nobody. Is Cotto done? I don't think so but you never know. It's not fair to say he's done because he didn't look good against an opponent like Clottey AND with a nasty cut since the 3rd round. Did Cotto tire? Yes he did, but the cut may have been a factor. Did anyone notice that the pace changed after the cut? Cotto seemed desperate and started throwing bombs and left himself open more often after the cut. Something that MAYBE wouldn't have happened otherwise.
Was it a gift? Hell no. It was a close fight. Clottey landed more, Cotto was busier (according to CompuBox). And it still doesnt say anything since fights are scored by rounds, not total output.
Also, I truly think punches landed on the arms/elbows, should count as landed. Blocked punches should be the ones blocked by the gloves, not any other body part.
So, in short. Cotto escaped with a gutsy win. Showed heart and mental toughness. Clottey is still a menace for anyone and one of the best in the division, and that's why nobody wants/will want a piece of him. How about P.Williams vs Clottey? Mosley vs Clottey? Mayweather vs Clottey? Not gonna happen. Berto may be the one to take the challenge because he needs the recognition, and it should be an interesting one.

i had cotto winning by a couple of rounds or so. I still think if cotto wasnt cut really bad early on then he would have dominated clottey and taken more chances to beat clottey into a pulp.
at the end of the day, if your the challenger you shouldnt try to coast rounds like clottey did, if he would have put more pressure on cotto over the lst few rounds and threw more shots then he would have won.

I also think Clottey should have won. I had him ahead by 3 points, he clearly landed more, he landed 222 punches while Cotto landed(no way, a lot of these where on the gloves/arms) 178. He controlled the pace of the fight and had Cotto backing up.
I would have been ok with a tie, but the judge scoring it 116-111 for cotto should be lapidated in front of his own familly. Blatant corruption.
Boxing is a great sport, but stuff like this is disgusting.
