If Hatton had tried to follow Mayweather's instructions and looked bad doing it, you'd have a case. But he completely ignored the game plan and fought the exact opposite of the way he'd been working on in training, so I don't see how Mayweather can be given any of the blame at all. He worked on keeping his hands up, so he kept them low. He worked on head movement, so he didn't move his head at all. He workled on his jab, so he didn't jab. He worked on angles, so he showed no angles and just tried to bulldoze his way in, in straight lines, the complete opposite of what Floyd had asked him to do. To blame Floyd for Hatton's stubborn willfulness is just crazy, IMO. The lateness issues may have been unprofessional but they don't explain why Hatton chose to completely ignore Floyd's gameplan. And when he followed Floyd's gameplan, against Malignaggi, he looked good doing it.
No one was saying that after the Malignaggi fight. Hatton rediscovered some of his old skills in that fight, while he was being trained by Mayweather. He looked better that night than he had since the Tackie fight.
