ricky just lost his focus ryt after he tasted manny's powerful leather.
he was surprised ryt in the first minute of the first round!!
it was ricky's game plan to do all things floyd taught him, like in the malinaggi fyt, but all were thrown into the air when he felt those flush shots from manny.
ricky can't think anymore, and so he reverted to his own style of fyting.

what is the saying in boxing? never follow a puncher, especially with no head movement or hands up! you could see it after the first round when floyd was giving him instructions, and hatton was looking at beard for instructions. hatton is a big boy and has been in the game for some years, he knows what he was supposed to do from the long camp. I think that beard messed him up. Beard was there from the beginning of camp and even since the malignaggi camp. you know the routine, if floyd is late then jump start the session, don't deviate and change it up? He's a trainer he should have been taking notes, and whenever floyd was going to be late, floyd should have just told him to start him offf with these workouts i will be there shortly (that's a team) and people must have forgotten about beard harping floyd snr about finders fee's? I feel sorry for hatton from that angle. I honestly do not think hatton is making excuses, i think its his team, because they have had time to evaluate and see what could have been changed. The old hatton would not have beaten pac. The mayweathers as ***********al as many may think they are, are a pure boxing family, it is 2nd nature to them, and they have a hard time with the patience of teaching the sweet science, especially if they have to tear a fighter down and rebuild him, and floyd snr's health isin't the best.

lets face it....Hatton can't take Pac's punch, be it the right and especially the left......plus being trained by an over-rated trainer in mayweather sr....all contibuted to his knock-out loss

          Still in pain

It won't do good to Hatton if the same line is reproduce till now.
Sometime ago he will be under Roach as his new trainer but later on flatly denied. To call a spade a spade Hatton didn't pass thru yet of his Pacquiao lost.
This is just to float his sentiment but is not ready yet to decide.Let's wait when his real self is ready and call it a day or i'm back.

Hoya, Hatton in shock and awe

What happened to Hoya, happened to Hatton. Face to face with the Pacman, the display of blinding speed and awesome power just left them immobilized, shocked, and resigned. No further analysis is needed. This is it.

What you and several other posters are ignoring is that Hatton did follow Mayweather's gameplan against Malignaggi, and looked good doing it; whereas he didn't even try to follow the gameplan against Pacquiao.

According to hatton, 'I know he's not that much better than me.' Uh huh. Which is precisely why the excuses are coming from all corners with a wink and a nod from hatton himself.

You're misinterpreting that quote. All he meant by that was that he doesn't think he's as bad as he was made to look in that fight - i.e. he thinks he under-performed. And he did under-perform. Even at his best he's not in the same class as Pac, but he was certainly not at his best in that fight.

And lol at the Pac fans who keep pointing out that when Salud speaks, he doesn't necessarily speak on Pac's behalf, which is true, and yet are unwilling to believe that any of Hatton's camp could possibly say anything without Hatton giving them permission first. Talk about double standards!
