Did Calzaghe's lack of one punch power ...

Those were NOT great wins. Undefeated Kessler yes a good win, barely a great one. Lacy and Kessler never accomplished anything special. I fail to see what's special about Joe Calzaghe especially after seeing him get tagged and dropped by two 40 year olds and denying the healthier one a rematch after a SD victory on sheer number of NON landed punches. This is the same guy who got a KO win vs Manfredo without actually landing ANY of the punches lol. Pure hype. Rocky anyone? Who wants to bet they will make a movie of this one too?.. hinder his popularity in the US? He was obviously a very good boxer, he had the skills and a decent chin. Some great wins (Lacy, Kessler, Eubank) Some okay wins and some plain terrible opposition.
Was it has lack of KO power that hindered his popularity? I mean I rewatched the Lacy and Kessler fights yesterday and he had Lacy at least 3 times but just couldn't finish him. Manfredo even though he was stopped wasn't really in too much trouble when it comes to a KO he just couldn't block Joe's pucnhes and wasn't returning. I don't think he would ever be able to finish Kessler damaged hands or not. Hopkins never really looked in that much trouble he just outpointed him and RJJ was there for the taking and he didn't finish him.

I was replying to the Mayweather not being popular in the UK, anyone who doesn't follow boxing or sport in general won't know him.
The general people who do know him for beating Hatton, the 3000 that showed up for his promotional tour in the UK shows this.
De La Hoya as a household name is like, who's tiger woods or who was Mike Tyson and my mom or someone of the general public would be able to answer them but De La Hoya, isn't a household name in the UK just like the Mayweather situation.Comment

So, unless an accomplished future Hall of Famer faces a UK opponent he will not be known by more than few hardcore fans? I guess it is the same in every country then.Comment
