not just those who bring the most ppv #'s and revenue.
PPV numbers mattter a lot as well.

Neither guy has made the effort is my point. Floyd was the recognized welterweight champ at the time. Some would say it for Cotto to pursue the top guy in his division. I instead say I blame both for the fight not materializing. And PPV numbers is a huge part of it. Cotto, Mosley and EVEN Margarito are calling out Pac at this point not because they feel he is the biggest challenge for them right now. They are doing it because the PPV would sell and they would make money.

Ellerbe never said they begged for the Cotto fight ST. He said they begged for the Mosley fight. And to think that Miguel would be afraid of Floyd because he beat a club fighter named Arturo Gatti, who btw was destroyed about ten years prior to Floyd by ODLH.

At least now I know where Floyd get's all of his lame excuses from.

We dont fight for bragging rights?
Prove that you have begged for these fights. Fact is, PBF ducked Tony. Floyd said he would not fight Cotto becuase Cotto lives in Puerto Rico.

Floyd retired, he went out crying and made it public after the Hatton fight that he was NOT TRYING TO FIGHT ANY REAL WELTER WEIGHTS. It's on tape, uneditted and unsencored folks. How can Floyd and Ellerbe try to bullshiet a bullshieter? Not happening.

Baldy? Did you see that fight? That fight made it even worst for Cotto because even against a guy like Baldy, Floyd had to run & pot shot the whole fight due to his size & strength. That made Floyd realize right there that he would have hell against Margarito & Cotto. Again, people think its about fear but its not. You have to be smart. Thats why he said that he's not going to let boxing retire him. Meaning that if he loses, he wants it to be because someone is flat out better then him, not just because they were too big for him to overcome and thats what he thinks it is. Is Margarito P4P on Floyd's level? Hell NO! Its a total mismatch. However, due to the size alot of people could easily see Margarito winning and Floyd doesnt want to lose that way. Hopefully the layoff has helped and when he goes back to 147, he can start coming in the ring at atleast 155 pounds and look solid at it but I dont think he will. Against Baldy he looked like a flat board. Even his shorts looked to big for him. He had no reason being in that ring but he could beat him because of his skill. Size wise he looked to be atleast 2 weight classes bigger than Floyd

"Mosley beat Margarito, and and and Cotto beat him... all these guys beat each other, but nobodys beaten Floyd Mayweather"

That's because you refuse to participate with the best fighters in your division, Floyd.

You know why Hearns, Leonard, Hagler, and Duran... are considered the FAB 4? Why that era of boxing is so widely respected?

Because they were all willing to fight each other.

You could be like Leonard... known as coming out on top amongst the greatest fighters. Creating this ERA's FAB 4.

I'll at least say this... these fights can still take place.

Fans only bring the $$$ at the gate and PPV. The bulk of his money come from guarnteed $$$ from HBO.

but fighting the #2 p4p fighter in the world in your comeback fight after a 2yr layoff ain't exactly stealing!

Just like he would'nt fight Margarito because he had 4 losses, only to turn around and fight Baldomir who had 9 losses! LOL.

I also think Floyds reasoning on Cotto is flawed as well.

                "He doesn't do PPV numbers"

Maybe that's because everyone just wants to see him fight you.

Put the headline out there Cotto-Mayweather, and see how Many Cotto fans are willing to buy THAT fight...

One great guy might not do great ppv numbers... match him with ANOTHER great guy, and they WILL do great ppv numbers.

Hearns moved up to WW, Leonard moved up to MW, duran moved up to WW. they all had to move to certain weight calsses to figth each other.

that is no different than now....JMM is moving up, Pacman moved up, Hatton Moved up, Oscar moved down, mosley moved down, cotto moved up. It is no difference. it is ok for Floyd to fight JMM or pacman, just like it was ok for Leonard to fight Duran or Hearns.

The difference is he has BIGGER threats IN his division.

Mosley is a bigger threat than JMM.

Cotto is a bigger threat than Hatton.

Williams is a bigger threat than all of them.

Pacman I would definitely be ok with.. because he has PROVED he can fight around this weight. JMM hasn't.
