Paul didn't want to fight Clottey but no one said he ducked him (yes clottey did call him out). Shane is not ducking him. Shane said he would fight Paul but he wanted to get Pac Man and mayweather first before he took that fight. I dont see nothing wrong with that.

This is what's frustrating about pro boxing: a total lack of transparency in regards to matchmaking. PWilliams has to campaign at 3 weight classes because nobody within that deep group wants to step in the ring with him? Pathetic.

I respect Shane a lot but if he's going to claim he's the best after obliterating Margie then he's obligated to take on challenges issued by fighters considered top threats in their weight class. Floyd's not interested. Little Manny and his catch weights, screw that. But call Goosen Promotions and a contract will be drawn and signed in a heartbeat.

I understand that big bucks for the least risk is smart, business-wise, but these so-called champions can't forget that ultimately boxing fans get behind (i.e. pay to see) athletes who accept challenges that we deem exciting.

beautiful post!!!! 100% on the money!!!!

Go ask marvin hagler, sugar ray leonard, ali, duran...etc...if they ever ducked opponents!!!!

Paul williams, vic darchinyan and miguel cotto appear to be the only fighters out there today willing to face top level competition on a consistent basis!!!

Paul Williams is a middleweight and we have seen how Mosley does against middleweights. I have no interest in this fight. Make Williams vs Abraham happen!

the best thing that happened to shane was linking up with richardardson, too bad shane did it late in his career.....i think it would be a very very good fight to see, and personally i feel williams' physical attributes would be too much for shane to overcome.......williams would pepper shane to death with his freakishly long jab, all night long...

As far as quintana is concerned, williams, obviously took him lightly and it showed in his poor performance.....but we all saw what he did to quintana in the rematch...and has been doing in all of his fights since then!!!

PWill and Clottey agreed to the fight for Nov. 2008 but HBO wouldnt put up enough money for the fight. Shane said he has NO interest in fighting Williams at all.

If it was as easy as u make it sound Mosley and Richardson would have taken the fight already. Even in Mosley's prime he had trouble with taller opponents (Wright and Forrest) and PWill will be his tallest and rangiest opponent yet. Richardson is good but he wouldnt come up with an answer for punches from that far away and from that many angles.

its funny how everyone knows that Paul would just beat Shane based on physical attributes. no fight is won on paper. the fact of the matter is Paul is not at a level in his career to warrant him fighting whoever he wants. instead of jumping from division to division fighting no names, old fighters, and pricing himself out of fights (Pavlik) he should just focus on dominating a divison. he is just calling out the hottest fighters. yes he is good but fight fighters on your same level and work your way up like all the fighters at the top.

Williams has a horrible Jab. Its more of his range in general and frame im worried about. But Williams has a tendancy not to fight tall.

Quintana tried to fight more agressivey the second time, and shouldv stuck to how he won the fight in the first place. And Paul has been facing frail competition since. Wright is a shell of what he once was,Spinks was robbed against Philllips and Phillips always suck especially an almost 40 yr old Phillips. Andy Colle is Andy ****in Cole
