People sound so simple-minded when they criticize Paul's level of opposition. Who has Pavlik fought lately? Who has Abraham fought lately? As much as I respect Shane, his claim to rejuvenating his career is that victory over Margarito. The version without loaded gloves who Williams gave a boxing lesson to. What I'm saying is that Paul may have beaten the version with loaded gloves. And even though Clottey isn't a cupcake opponent for Cotto, I still view Winky Wright as a better victory to have on your resume. Regardless of how long he'd been out of the ring.

yea the name on the resume looks good but we all know winky is past his prime. clottey is still in his prime and will be a tough fight for paul. the casual fan will see winky's name on paul's name and say "wow he beat winky" not knowing the long layoff and battles he already went thru. but a die hard fan knows that winky was just a name to put on paul's list. but he still gets credit for the win.

Each victory is good. I'm gonna be fair about that. But if you're a fighter, how can your resume look up to par when the big-name fighters won't give you a shot? Hopefully if Paul can't get a shot at Pavlik or Mosley, HBO will match him up with Sergio Martinez. It's too bad that James Kirkland is probably gonna get thrown into the pen because I know he called Paul out, and I have to give him credit for that.

your right about the big names giving him a shot. some guys have to grind it out, fight other guys that are willing to fight and wait. thats why i think paul is now in a good position at mw. he can get fights there and eventually martinez or pavlik will give him a shot. as for mosley, he's looking for a big money fight so obviously paul aint that guy. but i would love to see mosley vs paul or cotto vs paul. he shouldve stayed at ww and beat all the other guys and force a fight with the big dogs. but he vacated the wbo strap and moved up.

But what other guys are out there except for Cotto, Clottey, and Mosley? I don't blame Williams one bit for vacating his belt and not fighting that UK bum in Michael Jennings. And people know the deal with Clottey. Him and Paul wanted to fight each other, but HBO couldn't make it happen for one reason or another. Money dictated the decision I guess.

              • Mosley Is Just Flat Out Scared Of Williams

Lets just face it! Mosley is flat out afraid to fight Williams. If a man can make 147 then fight him. This is not boxing where fighters run from another guy when he is in there division. Stop trying to push Williams to fight in other divisions. Everyone that's doing that is just afraid that Williams would bust all them so called fighters ass. You hear what Goossen said, from 141 to 147. So if Mosley, Manny, Mayweather, Cotto, Clottey and sorry ass Judah want to fight a real fighter then step up. The only one that has the heart to step up and fight Williams would be Clottey. The rest don't want NONE! Manny would get KO'd in 1, It would take the rest maybe 3-5 rounds to get KO'd Williams is the only throwback fighter of today. He is the P4P King. That's what P4P really means.

I don't think Mosley is afraid of Williams. He just views it as a fight with no upside if he won it. I'm not one of these guys trying to black ball Williams out of the 147 division like a lot of other people are. However, people may make weight drain excuses for Paul if Mosley beat him. That could be something that Mosley is thinking about on top of not being confident enough to be able to beat him in the first place. But Mosley is toward the end of his career as I mentioned before, and it would be over for him if he lost another fight more than likely.
