no doubt Paul is a good fighter. no one doubts his skills. but what has he done to demand fights with the top pound for pounders. i just don't think people that are at the top should be criticized for not fighting him when he is not a house hold name. boxing is about money because you can see what it does to people after careers. the fighters that earned to right to pick and choose fighters for big pay days have done just that, Earned it. im just saying let Paul put in some more work. its fighters on his career level that he could be calling out right now. Felix Sturm, Khoren Gevor, Sebastian Sylvester, Arthur Abraham (all ranked above him in MW ring magazine). Sergio Martinez (JM). Joshua Clottey, Carlos Quintana (WW).

You ask what Williams has done recently to get a shot at another big name opponent, and that's not an intelligent question to ask. The guy has already beaten Antonio Margarito and Winky Wright. Those fighters are way better than Michael Jennings, Gary Lockett, Rubio, Sergio Mora, Oral, Simon and even Clottey to a lesser extent.

Margarito, OK. Wright was not active for about 2 years so i dont think thats really that impressive. but he is not on a level to be able to call out guys who are at hall of fame levels. Just as those fighters calling out Joe Calzage.

There were talks that HBO was interested in a fight between Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez. Would you give Williams his just due for beating him? Or would you make the same explanation and say he hasn't fought anybody to demand bigger fights? I also wanted to see a fight between Kirkland and Williams because Kirkland did express interest in fighting him, and Williams seemed to blow the challenge off which lost a little bit of points in my book. But Kirkland is the one who really messed up by getting in trouble with the law.

Hey, look at it this way, the guy in your avatar went on record and said, "I have no score to settle with Paul Williams" and "I'll gladly fight Manny Pacquiao."

i think those are the type of fighters he should be calling out. those are the guys that are on his career level. Guys like Mosley have been doing it for a long time now and have earned the right to pick and choose their fights.

One of this days Mosless will challenge Ivan Calderon for a WW fight at a catch weight of 146. Of course Mosless will win because he will juice up in steroids. So I guess Mosless is back on track because he beat a plaster free Margacheater. PWill needs to pickup a weight class and stay in it maybe he can go down to flyweight and challenge Nonito Donaire!!!!! They need to go back to weight in on fight day before the Klitschkos figure out they can go down to 147 and then go back to 245 the next day! 10k on Vitaly vs. Mosless.

Mosley has fought all comers. I'm not dis*****g that. It's just that there is a strong possibility that he may not be able to fight anyone that brings more financial and legacy wise to the table that Paul Williams does. Like the main story said, Goosen is gonna make it worth Mosley's while. So let's see what happens. Williams deserves a shot at Mosley just as much as Cotto did, and the best fighter on Cotto's resume at the time was Zab Judah who was 1-2 in his last three fights.

Unfortunately PWilliams is not going to get the prime fights so he has to stay busy with opponents like Santos, Martinez, Forest, Spinks, maybe some European prospects just to keep his name in the spotlight.

If was I him, I'd show up at at every Floyd, Shane, Cotto fight. And if I was Dan Goosen, I'd let the ring announcers know that Paul was sitting nearby ready to publicly challenge these mega star fighters. If he keeps taking care of business by winning in impressive fashion, his challenges will eventually land a big fight.
