Question, since JMM is a counter puncher and doesn't depend on his size, why not come into the ring at 142-143? His speed won't be as affected, everything will be intact. It isn't in Mayweather's style to fight like the bigger man.

Another thing, these problems you speak of 2501, he would have had to deal with it against Pacquiao had there been a 3rd fight.

So you actually think Floyd has no problem still making LW, a weight he hasn't made in over 5 1/2 years?

Floyd isn't Hatton. He's not Juan Diaz. He's not going to try to physically impose his weight, he's not going to try to bully Marquez with his mass and strength. So the weight disparity won't be an issue in that sense.

The issue at hand is how the extra poundage is going to affect Marquez's physical abilities.

Marquez moved up in weight and KO'd the Lineal LW champion in Casamayor and one of the best LW contenders in Diaz (Juan). Now, what is somewhat being overlooked is that Marquez was arguably losing both fights on the cards and anyone who watched the fights (I saw the Diaz fight live) noticed that Marquez's speed and movement has slowed down at the higher weight. The weight gain has obviously affected him and will put him at a severe disadvantage against someone that uses speed and power over brute strength.

Now, we all know the Mayweather camp knows this. This is why they chose Marquez.

Mayweather is considered one of the fastest, if not, the fastest fighter in the game. And he's fighting at a class that his body has conditioned and adjusted to. Marquez has not. Marquez has shown negative affects of the weight gain.

In conclusion, its not the height or weight Floyd will have over Marquez that is the issue, it is the weight MARQUEZ will be fighting at that is the issue.

However, Marquez agreed to the fight. He feels he can win at this weight. So we need to get over it and just anticipate how Marquez is going to pull this one out of his ass because somehow, this metrosexual wonder McGivers his way out of trouble. This could be another case of Juan "Si Se Puede" Marquez.

Anyway, just for those Mayweather fans that might not understand what other fans are upset at.
You are going to be upset about anything Floyd does...other than drop dead or turn into a mexican.

Another very important thing I'd like to say is, JMM isn't forced to come into the weigh in at 144, people need to understand that. Pacquiao came in at 138 against Hatton. JMM can hit the scales at 138-140, come into the ring at 142.

Hey Soy, I disagree with you about Floyd imposing himself. I think he did it against Chop, Zab, and will do it again in this fight. I think he will walk both JMM & Pac down and punish them. People think that he's going to be countering or pot shoting but no way he fights like that. He's going to atleast meet them in the Center and he will most likely walk them down, e****ally JMM

Ive said the same thing about coming forward. People see what they want to see, Floyd has a fighter's heart in the ring, he also walked down Sharmba.

I understand that, JMM is a dangrous counter puncher, so Mayweather will have to be careful. What Mayweather did to Zab, Chop Chop, Mitchell, Bruseles and Ndou shouldn't be done against Pacquiao. Pacquiao is a very dangrous opponent and can sneak in the left straight just as well as anybody. Mayweather should approach Pacquaio the way he did DLH (Except for the 1st 5 rounds) land constant jabs to the body, right hand and keep it moving, slowly breaking him down, then jump on him around the 6 or 7th round.
