I was the same as you, everything was easy, roof over my head, good with money, no debts, can afford to pay bills as a student.

Then i got into the real world, mortgages, council tax, pension contributions, investments for the future.

Take a look at child care as a prime example, 2 days a week nursery place ranges between £126 and £375 per week. So you basically have to work more hours just to pay for your childcare, if i didn't work I'd get that next to nothing. If I didn't work I'd get my gas/electric/water paid for, my boiler breaks down I get a cheque from the government to a replace it.

Wait until you get into the real world once you've stopped becoming a student, and you start paying that loan back, wanting to plan to buy your own home, pension contributions, council tax, income tax when you start earning a semi-decent wage, the list is endless.
Dude, didn't you hear me? I'm 21 now, I have only been a student since September. From 16-20 I was working 40-50hrs per week in a steel factory, taking home £250-300 a week. I paid for my own car, my own bills, and shared a flat with my mate. I have lived in the real world. Most of the money in my bank was saved from when I was working. When I leave uni, I know what's in store for me. I will be earning around £30,000 without kids to tie me down. Now if I can afford to live comfortable with a mortgage I will get one, if not I won't.

If you can't afford to live a good life with kids, and a mortgage, then don't have them. Or at least if you do, don't complain about it.

The day i finish university and got married was the day i was expose to the real world.
Just don't work. Claim benefits left right and center, abuse the system. Then you can look after your kid 24hrs a day, but if you want to pop down Weatherspoons or the bookie for a swift one one afternoon why not put them in the local nursery for free curtesy of the state.

Don't worry about gas/electric/water the state will pay for that, and with those savings why not go out and bu yourself a 50inch plasma with full sky sports package? open all your windows and blast on your radiators like most council estates. Ohh and at Christmas why not decorate your house with 1000 lightbulbs using 1.21giga whats of electric a day....curtesy of the tax payer of course.

Lifes sweet in Britain......... if you don't want to work.

Haha, typical student prediction, "When I leave Uni I'll be earning 3Ok a year" (reality check).
So you wish to rent all your life? so when you finally decide to have kids later in life it's great to know you've got the security of a 12 month tenancy agreement where the landlord can boot you out anytime they wish? it's great to know you get absolutely sod all return from your rent money aka dead money.

You're living the life of a bachelor mate, you can tell you're only 21, I was exactly the same.

I love visiting the UK for holidays but I don't think I could have anywhere near the lifestyle I have now if I moved back. My parents told me their utilities bills have doubled in 18 months (same usage). Anyway this is wandering way off topic.

For Froch it makes sense to move away - he's only got a couple of years to make his fortune. Why should he give half of it away?

Thats one thing i cannot do, Even when i was in uni i was working part-time so i doubt i would be able to cope sitting around doing nothing.

I just think taxing a boxer 50% of his wages on top of the deductions from Managers, trainers etc is a bit too much and i dont blame Froch for looking for a better option abroad.

It's not a prediction, it's an average leavers wage for a student on my course at my university. I'm on track for first class honours. It may not pan out that way, but I have reached all my goals so far in life.

And I agree with you about the dead money, but I would rather have a bit extra money each week paying rent, than struggling to pay off a mortgage on a house which I won't even own until I'm 60.

To get back on track, I don't think Carl Froch should be allowed to fight in the UK if he is a resident of Spain just to avoid paying tax. I don't have that luxury, nor should he. If he wants to live in Spain, let him fight in Spain.

Yep, must annoy Froch even more when he's risked getting brain damage so his local MP can claim a 16k extention on his second home in London.
