Yes....they stay in the limelight. But for how much longer? Once TO stops being a dominant player and becomes a role player...will anybody listen to his outrageous demands or antics???

If Floyd continues to duck and dodge the real challenges the public would like to see him take....How long before the media gets fed up as it becomes more blatantly obvious that he is all talk and no action.

Bolded: Yes. Dennis Rodman was the ultimate definition of a rold player and the media could not get enough.

Underlined:Floyd has come back to set up a fight with the guy that everyone thinks is number 1 right now. Boxing will be more alive than it has been for the longest. On top of that he has golden boy actively talking about Msley and Cotto fighting him. I don't think you can ask for much more.

T.O is a top 10 receiver all time, period, no "if he wanted to be", he is. Not every player is meant to go to the promise land, and hes only a wideout, I dont get this "he had the potential to be" you can apply that to randy moss, not terrell owens. Owens works his ass off in the gym and on the field. His primadonna additude is backed up by his numbers, which are in the 10 top, as far as receptions/yards. This comparison doesnt work at all. The only thing T.O and mayweather have in common is being hated and having a pompous additude, both give their all in the sport and both are all time greats at what they do, granted floyd isnt top 10.

Double standard whiners??? What double standards??? You act as if Floyd is a victim of circuumstance when he is a victim of his own doing.

We woudnt be having this discussion if he had just participated in the welterweight tournament that's been going on for the past year and a half in his absence and came out on top since he was a welterweight champion along with Margarito and Cotto, and with Mosley the #2 ranked challenger for his WBC belt.. Then he would be undeniably be the best welterweight on earth and the best fighter on earth. But he didnt. He sat on the sidelines and watched the welterweight division attempt to find an undeniable division king . Then magically he reappears when the dust has settled claiming his place and superiority over them??? Sorry buddy. you wouldnt let that **** fly in your everyday life or workplace. why would you let Floyd get away with it for being a professional athlete?

All of this stuff is basically welterweight talk and nowhere else. To say hes all talk and no action with 19 title fights without a loss, and not 19 title fights in just one division says hes not all talk. Only if you have been following the sport for the last 3 years would you think that. dude is on his way to fighting at least 3-5 more times before retirement, im not going to start questioning him not taking challanges unless in the next 2 years, we dont see any meaningful legacy enhancing fights. Honestly this is practically a talking point on this board "floyd ducks all challanges hes all talk and no action". if that was the case, he wouldnt be hated as much as he is, its not like people give a **** about anthony mundine, who fits this description perfectly.

to some extent he is a victim of circumstance. Floyd only real error was saying he was the greatest fighter of all time, when he said that dumb **** it drove his bar high enough to the point where itd be impossible to impress anyone. Floyd has taken challanges, its just his welterweight resume that could have been better. Granted, i dont see you saying a damn thing about the fact that when floyd got to 140, the only fighter to openly call him out was vivian harris. Other than welterweight, floyds resume is solid.

I said IF because we really dont know yet. He says he's coming back for legacy and that he has a hit list but given his track record its 1 of those i'll believe it when i see it type of things.
