But Pacman isn't Zab Judah and you're making more out of the problems than what they were in reality. You've been watching the fight game for so long but still don't realise that Pacman really isn't a pressure fighter and moves in and out (the only style Roach knows). he is also easy to hit and trying to box Floyd will be a disaster, as he is the master boxer. If he tries to pressure him, he will walk on to shots. Manny isn't completly outmatched, but isn't far off
Just re-watched Floyd vs. Hatton '07, all I gotta say is...

Yes, Mr boat buyer has problems with southpaws but he always ends up beating the **** out of themIt is a different style, Hatton was not randomly weaker.
Pacquiao is quicker and hit's harder..he likes to trade if he thinks it will benefit him..he only moves to get out of danger (see DLH). Hatton thought he was better at trading and got owned by a guy whos back yard is 40+ fights involving trading and toe-to-toe..he was always quick but only recently upped his movement and defense game.
floyd has problems with southpaws, Pacquiao is a beast of a southpaw, an ATG southpaw.
Judah is a joke compared to Pacquiao, if they fight, I'll go all in for Pac on a bet.
that's if Mayweather even beats Marquez. Coming off of a layoff against the hungriest fighter in the sport isn't always a good idea.

Good post. People seem a bit too concerned about how those two fights ended. Both were by pretty rough KOs but Pac was obviously quick and to the point. Hatton jumps all oer you. A fighter can do that to Floyd and get away with it for a bit cause Floyd figures the fighter out as the fight goes on and exploits what he finds. You can not jump on Pac like that because he is willing to take your head off in the first minute. Also I think that Hatton landed a punch that gave him a false scence of accomplishment early on and he may have felt encouraged to trade. Bad idea against pac. It doesn't mean that Pac did something better or worse then Mayweather, it just means Pac's style takes Hatton out quicker. Pac vs Mayweather will be a whole new ballgame. Think of it this way, George Foreman ran through Fraiser TWICE in easy fashion. The same Fraiser that had a win over Ali and gave him problems in future matches. What happened when Foreman fought Ali? Nothing that could have been predicted by what happened when they fought the same opponent. No triangles, Pac and Mayweather need to settle it.Last edited by M.I Truth ?; 05-16-2009, 05:07 PM.Comment

all this talk about why floyd didint fight hatton at 140. we only need to point to one person. Ricky Hatton. He had 2 chances to make that happen and he didint, he moved to 147 exclusively to chase floyd. Hatton should be thanking god he didint catch the 140 version of floyd, he would have been put out in possibly 5 or 6.
However, Pacs victory against hatton was outstanding, his performance was great, and there really isnt much to be said.Comment

Really? You just did start watching boxing huh? Espinosa is retired. Next best thing is Nonito Donaire check the lb for lb lists noob. You thick bastard, if I started watching boxing last year then how on earth would I havce seen the two fights? Also, how on earth would I know that Pacman has already been knocked out twice lol. Your karma message was gay, as I'm not really a Floyd fan. You balut eating inbred son of a *****, I'm merely stating the obvious! i know you think he is the second coming because the next best thing you have in journeyman Espinosa, but he simply isn't good enough to beat Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. Just watch his first fight with Morales to see how he gets schooled by a boxer who still has a chin. Plus Mayweather is much bigger than Eric and has a much better defence. In the last round, Morales basically said come on I'll turn southpaw let's see what you do, and all Pac did was throw straight flurries. And if Freddy Roach is a mircalce worker then how come he has failed with every other big name he has worked with? (Tyson, Oscar, Hopkins)Comment

You haven't really seen Pacman fight have you? Noob. Barrera, Morales, JMM, all went down through pressure. Pac now can turn the pressure on and turn it off at will. I've been saying this for awhile my man, I co-sign fully. It will be very competetive, and if it's one sided I see that in favour of pac more than I do floyd. Some may argue Pacquiao got the watered down version of Hatton.
However...I've been watching this sport for a long time. And I've had discussions with others that have been observers of this sport for 20 or 30 years and I think that this fight is more evenly matched than many believe.
Mayweather just doesn't throw enough punches nowadays and I truly think he'll have trouble dealing with Pacquiaos work rate, speed and awkwardness.
You don't beat this version of Pacquiao without a high work rate, steel chin or ugly clutching defense (one or two punches and clutch).
Marquez has had some success but took chances in order to land and got knocked down 4 times. Mayweather isn't that type of guy. He will most likely employ the latter (one or two punches and clutch).
Judah gave him problems in their fight but couldn't keep up the pressure and faded midway through the fight. Pacquaio won't have that problem.
Eventually Mayweather will be forced to stand and fight and we all know what happens when Pacquiao goes toe to toe with guys.
I like Pacquaio to win this fight by KO or TKO if it ends up getting made.
Anyone that discredits Pac's win over Hatton in any way, shape or form is just a hater. He exceeded all expectations. End of story.Last edited by sandyvahra; 05-16-2009, 06:15 PM.Comment
