Calzaghe would win an easy decision IMO, but he might struggle some because he no longer is hungry to fight. It's never a good idea to fight a prime hungry fighter when you're in retirement. Dawson would give Joe some problems and I think he'd end up having to dig deep to pull off the victory and I don't think he has that desire anymore. Now if Joe gets the itch back he would win by dominating Chad in the 2nd half of the fight. Chad fades and Joe gets stronger in fights, so we know how it's going to go.

The reason Joe didn't "Take" the hard fights is because Roy Jones Jr, was an american superstar who could earn billions by fighting other american household names, why would he bother with some guy from wales, who even most brits didn't know or care about? it's neither guys fault that they didn'tt meet in their primes.

Your right actually, its not really his fault Hopkins/Jones were very big while he was an unknown, its a shame his hands got so ****ed up actually. I just read so much crap about Joe taking easy fights staying in Wales like a coward etc that eventually it sticks a little. ****** really cause people piss on his win against B-hop about him picking on old men, yet this old man 6 months later Whooped (and could have Ktfo) one of the Usa next big fighters.

It's frickin annoying, before the Lacy fight Joe had been champ for ten years! yet all anyone cared about was Hatton, you never even heard about Joe Calzaghe, it reeks of Lewis and Bruno, where the british media hyped up the wrong guy.

back in the 90's. they must not have boxrec in wales. a simple check could have shown joe that roy jones was shot. oh well at least he stole some of the fans money in that epic fail of a fight.

Calzaghe would adjust to well, and Dawson taking rounds off would not help either.

Though I'm really not a JoeCal fan at all, I'd still pick him to win this one.

                  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

                  American media picked
                  Lacy>Joe
Manfredo>Joe (lol maybe not this one)
                  Kessler>Joe
                  Hopkin>Joe
                  Jones>Joe

so they obviously didn't rate or care any about him, and neither did the average brit sports fan, they were more concerned with golden balls, rooney and hatton!

Won't happen, but if it did Dawson would lose a UD.

Ever since Joe got that terrible hand/wrist affliction in 2002 he has not been able to punch powerfully. I think I would have to go for a Calzaghe points win. I predict that it would be a little bit like Calzaghe's very recent Bernard Hopkins victory.

It would not be a walk in the park for Joe because Chad is a terrific fighter who deserves massive amounts of respect for the great things that he has already achieved in this sport.
