        It says....

        A "counter-puncher" typically waits for his opponent to throw punches, then blocks or slips past them and exploits the opening in his opponent's position.

        Its simply giving an example of what a "typical" counterpuncher does.

        I dont believe this definition says

        "Unless you slip or block the punch its not a counterpunch"

        Thats why I can kind of see what he's getting at.

                    It's down to your own interpretations, but the definition itself seems to say a counterpunch is not dependant of slipping or moving the other punch.

                    Which makes sense to me right now considering the nonito doniare vs raul martinez example i used earlier.
