Even if Joe wanted to come back, Dawson needs to majorly strengthen his resume before Joe even considers him.

Not really. Dawson havent done anything to enhance either guy legacy.

Dawson deserves a fight with EITHER guy. Now if he beats them is another story but he deserves to be in the ring with them. Just like Johnson deserves a rematch at one point or another.

cosign...hopkins and dawson are two of my favorite fighters, but if hopkins insists on continuing to fight, rather than retire, dawson is the guy he should be fighting, instead of cutting corners, by looking at adamek or froch.....

better yet, hopkins could try to avenge his loss to taylor, but other than that, dawson is the only fight he should take......or retire.

The Choices for Dawson as i see it are to move up or down a weight to get some big fights.

Johnson in no way beat Dawson. Johnson won 3 rounds clearly and 2 could have went either way! So at best he still drops the decision and I'm a huge Fan of Johnson because of how he fights. Also a Hopkins and he lost to Joe. Not cuz he got beat but because he refused to let his hands go. He is older now and speed bothers him and he can't get his punches off. This is the reason he knows he can't beat Dawson. Joe has no chance against Dawson, he's never fought anyone as talented as Dawson in their prime. And why? Because he'd be exposed just like Hatton. Good fighters just not good enough to beat great fighters!

Chad Dawson should fight his mandatory, Cloud, then perhaps try to unify the light heavyweight division (Erdei, Garay, Diaconu).

I don't think Calzaghe will come out of retirement for the likes of him, and I think Bernard is eyeing Froch rather than Bad Chad.

Hopkins and Calzaghe both beat Dawson.

Just a gentle reminder for what was near to agrees consensus awhile ago. Dawson didn't perform much better, he still loses. I'd love to see one of them face him, but Dawson's a good guy, relatively good for boxing, so it's not all bad he can crack on without a loss round the corner, never mind one arguable loss to someone whom by such a standard as those two, he should have beaten far easier.
