Did Floyd think Hatton would beat Pacquiao?
IIRC, he predicted Pacquiao would win. I can't find the article now, but I believe it was on the boxingscene front page. He claimed he'd softened up Hatton for Manny, and that because of that, Pac would win easily.

Not true. Hatton's camp claimed, when Pac was trying to improve his share of the purse, that if the Pac fight fell through, they would fight Mayweather instead - but when it looked like the fight really had fallen through, it soon became obvious that the Hatton camp's claims were just bluster.

That's not your first racist post, give it a break.

It's impossible to prove a negative. But there's no evidence that there ever were any talks, just a claim by Hatton's camp during their negotiations with Pacquiao, which was clearly meant as a negotiating ploy, because when the Hatton-Pac fight looked as if it really had fallen through, the Hatton camp suddenly went completely quiet about Mayweather and instead talked about approaching Marquez.

mickey ward & arturo gatti should get in also then. Their trilogy far & away trumps corrales & castillo's 2 fight series.

& i guess sischatwal vs monshipour should be ranked as one of the greatest fighters of all time based on their fight which i think is the greatest fight of all time.

Ever heard the saying about the sins of the father? It just makes Roach look silly when he starts throwing childish insults at someone who hasn't insulted him.

It's a free country, he has a right to say anything he likes, including the ******est things imaginable, but that doesn't mean he should do so. I have a right to eat manure, but I don't have any plans to eat any.

              • The fight needs to happen. Unless Floyd looks like crap against JMM, I'm going to stick with arguable the greatest technical boxer of all-time.

Technique > Raw speed and even power

I remember him saying that Pacquiao was a "good fighter" specifically.
He admits Pac is a good (not a great) fighter, but he is far from complimentary about him. See here:
Mayweather Jr., who is also known for his trash talk, said he doubted the Filipino southpaw's ring prowess because of his blemished win-loss record.

“He’s been knocked down in the first round before and like three or four years ago, he’s the guy that’s outboxed by a washed out Erik Morales,” said the former P4P king. “So I ask you a question right there.”

He also belittled Pacquiao’s success over Mexican toughie Juan Manuel Marquez.

“Manny Pacquiao fought with one of the Marquez brothers, right? One of the Marquez brothers knocked him down three times in the first round and still got a draw so we know that he’s got outboxed in that fight, for real. And then he fought him again and won by one point,” Mayweather Jr. went on.

And he also tried to ensure that Pac would get no credit for beating Hatton:
“If Manny Pacquiao wins, I wouldn’t be surprised. The reason why is that I took everything out of Ricky Hatton,” said Mayweather Jr.

A ridiculous and ungracious thing to say.

If you really think Pac has no technique and relies solely on raw speed and power, you haven't watched the Hatton fight, or for that matter, any of his last five or so fights.

Round 9 in Ward-Gatti 1 is the best signle round of boxing i have ever seen. However Corras-Castillo is the best fight. For whatever it's worth i wouldn't have a problem if Ward or Gatti or both made the HOF. They both had some incredible fights.
