Pac and Mayweather need to get it on, after that they can worry about the big boys at 147. The winner of that fight should be confident enough to fight those guys at their healthy weight, or just not look for those fights.
you are worried 'bout the health of the big guys??
....how about the health of midget manny???
shane/miguel climbs the ring at 160, manny at 148 at most!!
now whose health is more precarious??! considering manny started at 106 (in case you have forgotten).
cotto cannot possibly make below 147?? even 3 less lbs at 144??
i'm sure arum ($$$ and promise of the future) will make him go down even to 143!

you guys should think your positions on manny fighting cotto at 147, cotto start at 140lbs manny at 106, fight time cotto is 160 manny 147-148. how can that be fair, catchweights are there to give a disadvantaged fighter a level playing field. besides the PACMAN is the MAN right now i dont anyone disputes that, and by that fact that cotto or shane would have to go down and fight the MAN.

As a boxing fan, I think Arum has to do whatever he can to make Mayweather-Pacman for the fall. #1 vs #1. This would break all sorts of ppv records and would be the best fight for boxing. Let Cotto fight Mosley, with the winner being in prime position for the Mayweather-Pacman winner.

u dont understand dude, mayweather has been duckin cotto for years now, arum is being smart by giving pacquiao to cotto cause if cotto defeats pacquiao mayweather wont be able to duck him anymore. Also pacquiao cant beat mayweather, cotto can, Mayweather defense will give pacquiao loads of trouble. Dont let overrated hatton fool ya, hes defense is garbage. Hes style is garbage. Hes garbage. oh and dont let an over the hill oscar fool u either.

for christ sake, the man started at 106lbs. and you expect him to fight cotto at 147lbs? that's BS. cotto is bigger, stronger and have all the advantages at 147lbs. somehow, if cotto really wants to fight manny, he should fight him at a catch weight.
Yeah sure, so he can be weight drained and easy pickings for Pacman and another day of celebration and "glorious" victory for the Phillipines? BS, fight em while they are healthy.

                  screw catchweight

If manny wants to fight at WW then come in at 147. Screw that he has enough time to prep his body for a fight at 147. Cotto will not fight below 147 mark my words!! he isnt ****** and Manny is using his weight as an excuse!! MP fought DLH at 147!! Now fight the rest of the WW at 147!! PAC fans, Manny is going to get KO'd at 147 with the legit WW's!!

                    This fight won't happen.

This fight won't happen, at least not yet. Arum is using Cotto's name as a bargaining tool to get Mayweather to lower his 50-50 split demands. He is not going to sacrifice one of his two top moneymakers. He gambled with Margarito-Cotto and he ended up losing. He will not make the same mistake twice. He knows Cotto's marketability is mediocre at best. He could not bring seven thousand fans to MSG on the same night that Pavlik filled up a "generic" arena in Ohio. Juanma brought ten thousand fans together in PR, something Cotto cannot do.
The fight that makes sense is Mayweather-Pacquiao and Arum knows this. He is using Cotto's name as a negotiating tool but in the end it will not work. Mayweather is too stubborn and if Arum is lucky he might get a 55-45 split on the fight.

Haha, you don't know what you're talking about. He drew 11,000 to the Jennings fight at MSG....and it was Jennings.

He's sold out plenty of venues in Puerto Rico.

When he faces a name at MSG, he sells the place out.
