Really don't care about past weights, fight night weigh ins etc. The fact is that Floyd is a welterweight RIGHT NOW. Anyone who cannot make 140 is a welterweight Any fight over 140 is AT LEAST 1.5 weight classes above 135. #2 JMM has never fought above 135 and is therefore a lightweight.

I really think this is a much more competitve fight than people make it sound. The winner is going to get Pac and both fights are huge

I dont think that Floyd is that much bigger than JMM. And JMM was not fighting at 135 in 1996 like that guys stated earlier. I can see JMM pulling out the upset SD.
As for the 24/7 it is entertaining to see how a man with so much money can act the fool. He is still as ****** as they get with no class but its funny and entertaining. We all like trash TV.

I know that many people feel this fight should not happen. One consideration that has been overlooked is the benefit to Marquez.

JMM has been a fan's fighter. He is less widely known than any other top fighter. This fight (and the 24/7 series) will provide him with the exposure that he deserves . The question is whether he can capitalize on that exposure.

If he knocked Mayweather out that would be great for boxing, 2 powerhouse monsters who are fun to watch (Pac and Marquez).

He knows what he has to do, I'm not counting him out.

Marquez is a little smaller than Floyd. But great fighters overcome things like that. Floyd himself has overcome size disadvantages.

So, this is Marquez' big opportunity to imprint his name in boxing's ledger. How awesome would it be for him if he was the one that hung the "1" in Floyd's loss column.

Great fighters can move up five pounds and beat a 2-year inactive runner.

As for the fight, even though everything isn't in Marquez' favor..I'll be lookin forward to him makin a classic boxing match out of this.

and mayweather will be displayed as this generation greatest fighter with a chip on his shoulder who has a point to prove as to why he is the greatest....

This is ******, but it's barely starting to hit me that this fight is actually taking place... sooner than later. 2 months!

It's like people talk boxing on here every day, they speculate and argue for weeks, months, years and then... boom! In less than 24 hours, 1) Floyd officially announces he's coming back; 2) he's fighting Marquez and 3) Pac demolishes Hatton in brutal fashion setting up a possible end-of-the-year showdown of epic proportions. Not quite the blink of an eye, but close.

I want JMM to beat the odds and win. If he loses, I hope it's at least a classic.

If that can't happen, I just hope more great matches keep coming our way in '09 and beyond.
