Marquez already looks a little blown up at lightweight in my opinion. I can't see how he is going to be able to manage this at 142. There is also the issue that this fight is matador vs matador. Someone is going to have to attack and I figure it'll have to be Marquez, which is where he loses the fight unfortunately.

I'm a huge fan, but the odds are stacked against him here. Fighting arguably the best fighter in the World, at a weight seven pounds higher than you have ever fought, who is naturally much bigger. I'm pleased that Marquez will be getting some exposure though.

MWho has ever stopped Casamayor? When was Diaz ever that hurt? JMM has done more damage to legitimate LW's than he did to John, barrera, or rocky frikkin Juarez.

I know that many people feel this fight should not happen. One consideration that has been overlooked is the benefit to Marquez.

JMM has been a fan's fighter. He is less widely known than any other top fighter. This fight (and the 24/7 series) will provide him with the exposure that he deserves . The question is whether he can capitalize on that exposure.

I remember that the "Undefeated" 24/7 had all these posters thinking that Hatton was an unstoppable monster.

But at the same time, it's OUR job to really look at them and figure out where the kernels of truth are: Big Floyd being late, Pac working the right hook, Moorer's unbridled assholishness, etc.
