The punch that koed hatton will destroy cotto, mosely, margarito, mayweather and williams (quote me on that). Theres just much pressure a human chin can take and that punch is superhuman for a small guy like pacquiao.

First off Cotto has unfinished business with Margarito(the guy who knocked him out) and Mosley(the guy who KTFO'd the guy) Until he rights that ship he shouldnt even be considered in the top 3 of potential opponents for Pacquiao.

Arum does not want to see a 32 year old Mayweather fight a 30 year old Pacquiao. He wants to delay the inevitable as long as possible until May shows signs of decline. If Pacquiao were on GOldenboy this fight wouldve been signed less than 5 minutes after the KO. Bob Arum is a ****** snake.
If theres somebody to blame it is mayweather he opted to fight marquez rather than wait for a december bout with pacquiao. Thats a fact.

it didnt KO De La Hoya, Theres a reason for that. Hatton has always been a limited fighter with no defense and no head movement. AFter his KO loss to Floyd he had no chin as well.

        • Pac hype

PAC beating Williams,Cotto,SSM st 147? C'mon!!! I give PAC credit but fighting at WW and no catch weight BS.No-one will fight PAC at a catchweight knowing he fought before at 147 with DLH. Keep hyping a COTTO vs PAC and you'll see the words (GAME OVER) for PACMAN.

            • OK now things have got out of hand with the Pacquiao win.

people need to chill the **** out.

Pacquiao is great but he needs to stay at 140.

Why does he? He proved he takes his physical abilitys up through the divisions so far, only questions left is what happens when the big guys tagg him back? He Would be better off at 140 or at least less likely to lose but look at it like this the guy started as a fly weight would anyone really think bad of him for losing to a solid WW like Mosley or Cotto, or for having the stones to try? I like his chances. Still Mosley and Cotto should be a bit too far for him

                  • Cotto next for Pacquiao – Arum

                    By NICK GIONGCO

                    May 3, 2009, 6:47pm

LAS VEGAS — Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum said on Saturday night though many would like to see Manny Pacquiao face Floyd Mayweather Jr., the Filipino’s next likely opponent would be Puerto Rican puncher Miguel Cotto sometime in November or December with New York as venue.

Arum, grinning from ear-to-ear after Pacquiao’s sensational demolition of Ricky Hatton, said during the post-fight press conference that everything would all depend on the outcome of Cotto’s June 12 fight with Joshua Clottey at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Arum said Pacquiao will be on hand at the Garden when Cotto faces Clottey since he will be attending the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) awards dinner on the eve of the fight.

The BWAA has named Pacquiao as its Fighter of the Year for 2008, while cornerman Freddie Roach will receive the Best Trainer award.

This marks the second time Pacquiao will receive the award having been named as Fighter of the Year in 2006.

If everything falls into place, Pacquiao and Cotto will duke it out at the Garden, where Cotto has sold it out a few times owing to the large Puerto Rican population there.

Cotto, 5-7 a right-hander, has rebounded strongly from his knockout loss to Antonio Margarito of Mexico last year and has since made his way back into the win column, stopping Michael Jennings of the UK in five rounds at the Garden last February.

The 28-year-old Cotto, who is also under the promotional banner of Top Rank like Pacquiao, has a 33-1 card with 27 knockouts.

FYI, just so you know, Arum isn't over looking anybody~!

                    • Arum will likely do anything to keep Manny away from Floyd.

It may have something to do with past grudges, but mostly to do with the risk.

Cotto will be a free agent soon. Arum's gotta milk it for what is left.

                      It's just business.
