I cotto beats clottey he has 2 options.
VS Mosley or VS Pacquiao.
either way I see cotto with good paydays if he's victorious against clottey.
This fight should take place, after all Pacman is only doing something
Floyd refuses to do and that's fight Cotto and that's fight D best!Last edited by PRPOWERPUNCHES; 05-04-2009, 10:26 AM.

it will be very hard, but that's how great fighters should conduct themselves.
just fyting cotto will separate manny from the boys (pretty or not). all pun intended, and insuls too. hehehe
there is that risk of cotto destroying manny...but that's still speculation.
manny has the chance to steal a decision.
manny will box all nyt and avoid miguel's powershots...just like how the "pretty one" do it.
pile up those points and finish 12 rounds...voila!! a WW belt for manny.

It would be a bad career move for Pac to face Cotto, why risk what would be a massive pay day v Mayweather by fighting a big strong 147 pounder who is a far better fighter than Hatton.
Roach said in a post fight interview that 140 is where Pacs at now.
Seems to me that Arum wants to keep all the action (and money) in Top Rank and freeze Mayweather out. If Floyd beats Marquez and thats a big if, then Mayweather v Pacquiou at maybe 143lbs is the most natural, logical fight.
Dont get me wrong i would love to see Pac v Cotto but i really dont think Roach would let that happen at 147 and no way is Cotto coming down, i think Arum is just getting a bit excitable.

so even if he loses he can then fight cotto, but if pacquiao loses to cotto than we will more than likely see cotto vs pbf, right now pacman vs pbf is the interesting match-up

freddie and manny are no fools... they are just brave souls.
I'm getting pretty tired of Pacman and Roach using this strategy to benefit Manny. All this time it's been pretty obvious to me Manny is a short, but really stocky and powerful guy beating up on guys much smaller in frame than him (see JMM for example). In this Hatton fight, Ricky looked much weaker than Pacman. At least it was fought at the 140 lb limit, not some catchweight BS. Poor Ricky and his bumrush style, he didn't have a chance against Pacman or ANY top 5 140 lb fighter on Saturday.
Throw in Victor Ortiz in the ring on Saturday night and I guarantee the fight would have lasted a lot longer, heck it might not even have gone Manny's way.
I like Pacquiao, I'm not liking Roach lately. If they are going to fight for the welterweight championship, then you fight at the welterweight limit. If Duran and Armstrong could challenge champions at their scale, then so can Manny, get out of here with this special considerations BS, Pacman's not this tiny guy, he's short, but he has a logger's frame.
Cotto may be what, two-three inches taller max? If Cotto has to fight 5-11 guys like Margarito and Clottey, then Pacman can fight Cotto at 5-5 to Cotto's 5-7.
