So he's really only got 2 options:

      1. Fight Chad Dawson
      2. Retire; which no one will hound him about. He doesn't owe anybody another fight, and anyone who claims that he is afraid of, or ducking Dawson should consider that the man is 44 years old, and you are demanding that he fights the king at 175 in his prime. He doesn't owe us that. He doesn't need that for validation.

Besides, if Hopkins lost, people would say he's too old. If Hopkins wins, people will quickly say that Dawson was overrated. There's little to gain from a fight with Dawson.

I could roll with this statement if the cat is mediocre like say a washed up Roy Jones, but this cat is rated what, #3 or 4 p4p? He should be fighting guys that are his size and equally talented. Fight after fight. Not these bulls**t catchweight fights where he gets a ton of credit for beating somone who has to move up two weight divisions to face him. Stop making excuses for him. If he's a top ranked fighter making millions, he should be fighting the best, and Dawson represents that whether he's young or old.

this writer is a sneaky dude ......according to the writer......Dawson beats Calzaghe......B-Hop won't do nothing for his legacy by beating Froch .......nothing but becoming a 3 divison world champ ...IF B-Hop had NEVER been LHW champ before then you can best to believe that Chad would be on the menu........B-Hop is the catchweight king ...nah seriously Chad aint gonna get respected for a SD or UD win over a 44 yr old B-Hop after Johnson and Tarver twice.....get REAL! B-Hop has the name but at 44 the name aint worth that much......ask Calzaghe........let B-Hop add to his legacy and get the SMW strap and let Chad do the "Froch" thing and start callin' out Calzaghe everytime he gets a mic........oh yea, B-Hop has proved himself against the best.....the P4P best!.......don't for one second believe the bullsit that "Hopkins is AFRAID of DUCKIN' Dawson".......not true!!.........Calzaghe and Dawson is more sgnificant than Hopkins-Dawson IMO.

Bernard has a style suited to taking out tall, stiff fighters who rely on their power more than their skill, when he fights skilled fighters who he can't time so easily he fights as dirty as possible to muddy the water, preventing a clean fight so that no one can see him being out-boxed. Then between fights he signals he's going to fight top young fighters his own size or step up in weight before picking a catch-weight fight with someone from a lower weight division.
I can't help but admire Hopkins for managing to trick so many boxing fans into thinking he is better than he really is. Bernard is a great fighter but his ability as a self-promoter easily dwarfs his boxing ability.

Trinidad and Oscar were champs at 160. Hopkins himself moved up too not just Winky and Pavlik by themselves.

Chad Dawson hasn't shown that he can beat Hopkins. In all reality, Dawson beat on a finished version of Tarver, when he was nothing other than a LHW belt holder.

It's the same reason why Calzaghe doesn't want to fight him. Dawson's too high risk/low reward to interest Hopkins and Calzaghe.

Yes. I believe he can school him. What the hell has Dawson done to prove he can decisively beat Hopkins when better boxers couldn't.
