Moore and those guys didnt use the shoulder roll. They used the crab. Its a little different. Even Foreman did it when he came back. Floyd used it in some fights too but not most of it. The crab is about crossing your arms in front of you, the shoulder roll isnt exactly like that.
Still, Floyd or Toney didnt invent it. I mean Floyd Sr taugh it to Jr and you know that he didnt get that from Toney. Its an old D but newer guy made it more popular. Its just like alot of things in the world. Some things have been around forever but just recently some people have made it more popular or took it to another level. Some things in boxing have been around forever and have been used by a bunch of people but none of them have mastered it like a Toney or FloydComment

nop it was this guy

Jack Dempsey, The Manassa Mauler
Dempsey called “the bob”, “a kind of artistic duck.” And he described “the weave” as “a series of slight imaginary slips. As you shuffle toward your opponent, you roll your left shoulder slightly; then your right’ then your left and so on…the genuine bob and weaver-and I was one of those-uses it fully. A deep bob and a side sway. I used to slip in under an opponents attack. Once in close I threw my left hook. I had a good one. I’d continue with a barrage of rights, hooks and uppercuts.”Comment
