For what you said about him saying he will come back just to seal his legacy and add to it and fighting JMM is a disappointing I disagree with, I don't mind him fighting JMM when it is classed as a tune-up to get rid of ring rust, nobody should blame him for not stepping into the ring with somebody like Cotto or Mosley straight after an 18 month layoff... if you get what I mean? If it is just to sharpen him up a bit and get rid of ring rust I don't mind... I don't like calling it a tune-up fight in respect to JMM, but it is the best way to describe it.
Either way, good post... and I gotta give credit to Horus for making this poll which was a pretty good one, because it has matched out pretty evenly.

I feel if Floyd is gonna comeback, it should be against fighters within his weight-class (147), or within reach. If Floyd wants to fight a 135lber, or a 140lber, then both fighters are going to have to sacrifice a little, and meet at a catch weight. None of this bull**** about who call out who. Then again, if Floyd wants to campaign at 147, but fight only LW's and LWW's, then he should indeed move down if he has no intentions in fighting any WW's. Why be in a weight-class if you're not planning on fighting any of the top guys there?

I'd love to see him fight Mosley or P.Williams at 147, but that won't happen
I wouldn't be mad at JMM or Pac-man bouts at catchweights either

But he could instead fight Mosley, Williams, Cotto, etc.
Mayweather is a coward for avoiding them and forcing a little fighter to move up to face him.

Anyway to answer your topic if he wants to face the best of any weightclass then he should fight them in the weight class where they are the best and not make them fight where he has the clear advantage and is not willing to face the best in said weightclass.
if ur a fighter u don't make excuses..u fight the best in ur class
and people talking about cotto's win over jennings or gomez...what about mayweather's win over baldomir or bruseles?? i forgot baldomir was the great "lineal champ" and bruseles was....was....who is bruseles??
