    Horus....

Everyone is LYING if they say they aren't gonna watch the JMM vs May fight because JMM is smaller than a Welter, that being said, i would rather see him fight cotto if he beats clottey, that would make him the legit best WW in the world (only b/c he beat mosley) Cotto vs May makes wayyyyy more sense and if May wins this fight there wont be ANY doubt he's WW and p4p best in the world.... that's what i'd rather see May do, but *** it if he fight JMM I'm still watching but i hope he goes with my other scenario

The problem is that People saying he can ONLY fight Welterweights for it to be a legitimate fight and win, when he himself is not really a welterweight compared to the rest of the welterweights...
People say all he has to fight a real WW and nobody else..!!!
thats what make floyd fans feel like you guys are bing hypocritical....

      and plus..

Floyd has already become lineal WW champion of the world.

At the end of the day I do not require Mayweather to stay in 1 division and fight every up and comer their is ....Because he has already did that at 130.
when he stayed there for 27 fights.

      As of Right Now.
I just want to see Mayweather fight Big Names reguardless the weight class.
from 140-160 i just dont care about him being in 1 division.

I just want him to enhance his legacy by making history.

History would be if he went and got himself a middleweight title
History would be if he went and became a lineal champion @ 154
History would be if he went and became a lineal champion @ 140

Those are the kind of fights i want to see him in.

Because at the end of the day every division has a Joshua Clottey and a Miguel Cotto. But every division does not have a Juan Manuel Marquez, or a Manny Pacquiao.

and I want to see Mayweather fights with proven great fighters reguardless the weightclass.

u mean the best from 140 and below...

      or

a meaning fight with a top welter..

if that the case... i rather preffer him see go against a top welter or above .. top fighter... cos he already have proven that hes the best from 140 and below.

his goals now are @ 147 and up...

if he wants to fight the best from 140 and below.. thats good.. cos he bring fanbase to our lovely sport... but we already know hes gonna walk with the W like some posters here claim... and i have no doubt about that...

so.. since i want to see him going into a fight with a chance to loose...

i only see that from 147 div and up...

      140 hes just flawless.

Doesn't work like that. Remember how everyone considered Margarito the best WW even though Paul Williams schooled him?

cause right after williams got schooled by a contender and then margarito went on to beat johnson, cintron, and cotto. Williams lost to quintana and then beat him and left ww

Because Historically and even as recent as the 1980's with fighters like SRL,Hearns,Hagler, etc.

You could not come over the weight division limit before fight night.
By 1 Pound let alone 5 pounds...

That way we had fair fights.Boxers have 17 weight classes to fit into. They should be compelled to fight within the one that most nearly reflects their actual trim and fit weight.

              If fighters cant make 147...
              they should fight at 154
If they cant make 154 they should fight at 160...

this is the whole reason we have 17 weights classes instead of the orgianl 8 classes like we used to have

so we can see the best 147 pounders fighting the best 147 pounders.. in the ww division

not the best 147 pounders fighting the best 163 pounder in the ww division
I never heard of fighters not being allowed to weigh more than 5lbs over in the 80's. I don't even remember them being weighed right before the fight. Was this a rule? That's interesting.

Nevertheless, that was then. And the sport was different then. In boxing today, we have other rules - rules that all fighters are aware of before they step into a weight class. I really don't have a problem with Floyd Mayweather fighting Marquez, even at 147. Yes I know Marquez is a great and should never be considered a tune-up but it is what it is. I have no doubts that the weight will be a factor, especially against a Mayweather whose most underrated attribute is his strength. He's perfect for Floyd's first fight back because he'll pose problems with his skill (while helping Floyd work the kinks out) but won't trouble Floyd too much if he lands.

Nice comeback fight for Floyd and I'd be excited to see it. But to answer your question...why make excuses for Floyd? Wouldn't you want to see him fight what you consider to be big welters, especially since he left as the linear champ in the division (for what it's worth)? That's where the legacy lies - as your posts show, it still needs much defending.

I don't understand why you Floyd fans are protecting Floyd so much. Shouldn't ya'll wanna silence the critics and prove Floyd is better than any other top WW in Boxing? Didn't he retire as the recognized WW champion?? Him beating Marquez is not going to enhance anything but add more questions and criticism to Floyd's career after reaching the top.

Truthfully, the whole weight issue is as bright as day but still Horus continues to make claim that Floyd is this small Welterweight. Floyd WANTS to fight at WW because that's where he's at right now in his career...and according to his fans he's STILL the #1 guy and on top of his game...so he's still in his prime, right? Why not fight PRIME WELTERWEIGHTS?

Think about it...say for instance Pacquiao loses to Hatton and Cotto beats Clottey and then hypothetically...Floyd fights and beats JMM. You're telling me NOBODY would want a Cotto vs Floyd fight to be made if Floyd is sticking to 147???? What true Boxing fan DOESN'T want that??

Mr boat buyer should fight the top WW if he's gonna come back. Fights wit JMM and Pac are fine if they happen at 140. Simple as that. If you wanna fight at WW, fight a ****in WW.
