Paul Williams vs. Miguel Cotto

margarito was able to get on the inside b/c he is relentless. cotto is not relentless, and IMO williams hurts him before cotto "gets on the inside" and even has a chance to hurt him.

we've seen cotto hurt before, we've never seen williams hurt.

Cotto doesnt need to be relentless to get to the inside.

He just needs to give Williams some angles and slip some punches and he will be find.

Thats what Quintana did. He gave Williams angles and got to the inside fairly easy and tagged Williams easy.

I know he look good against Winky. But Winky is a straight comefoward fighter. Cotto is a selective boxer/Puncher!!!!!!

Cottos body work did nothing to Margarito. It was the other way around. Paul is much better. Cotto would get mugged. And calling Winky old? Winky would make Cotto look like a fool. If its is a conclusion that Williams beats everybody from 147-160, the hand him the belts, give him the money and save us the time and move to 168.

paul williams defeats winky in convincing fashion and suddenly all of boxingscene thinks hes unbeatable and would whoop everyones ass from 147 - 154 and only comp would be aa or pavlik from 160. come on people lets get serious he aint ****in superman.

funny thing is, even before the winky fight, people thought PW would destroy cotto......nobody is basing anything off the winky fight. PW's physical advantages, plus his fighting style = nightmare fight for cotto.....and i understand if cotto never fights him. i understand why mosley doesn't want to......

but real boxing fans don't look at ONE performance, and say this guy can beat that guy, and so on. i thought so before, and if anything, the winky fight reaffirms my opinion.

If Williams can keep Cotto at a distance the whole fight hell win a UD or Late KO. But if Cotto gets to the inside, hell destroy Williams with bodyshots.

same was margarito, easy to hit but able to tee off on cotto with slower hands than pw! margie heavy handed right! cotto couldnt land bodyshots on margie, why? cuz he wouldnt stop punching. "tyrone" will destroy cotto, late though. nuthing early, cotto is a b+ fighter so he wont get blown out!

Since when has "getting on the inside" with Williams been a fantastic strategy? The guy can throw with great power and trade effectively on the inside. I think this fight would look like the last three rounds of Margarito/Cotto.

If paul williams drops down to WW he will be a ****ing skeleton... if he ever goes down to WW again if he fights one of the top dogs he will lose, losing ten pounds off the frame he has now will be just unhealthy

come on man, quintana had a good gameplan, but williams OVERLOOKED him the first time, didn't take him seriously, and thought he'd just walk in there and get an easy W. in boxing, you can lose to anybody, if you don't prepare well.....

and winky was/is TOP 3 defensive fighters in the game, and look at what happened to him.....i have NEVER seen winky so lumped up in my life! he blocked MOST of the punches, but he himself admitted that they came from everywhere, and he wasn't able to block all of them.

i'm not saying williams "destroys" cotto......i think it'll be a great fight for the most part. i just think down the stretch williams advantages take over, and he stops cotto late. he hurts cotto, before cotto hurts him.

Why no one mentions Williams beat Margarito with the plaster while Cotto didn't. Williams ate some nasty shots from Margarito, Cotto couldn't eat them like Paul, didn't eat them at all. Talking about his last 3 opponents are 113 years old but he beat a dangerous Margarito and softened him up for Cotto and Coto still couldn't beat him. Even Javier Capetillo said he's been wrapping Margs hands like that for 10 years so don't come with that :Margarito didn't use plaster against Williams" crap.
