My thoughts exactly! I'm a fan of Marquez and all, and I can see him winning some rounds over Floyd in a very interesting boxing match, but it'd still be probably a 116-112 type decision for Mayweather.

      didn't JMM "call out" floyd???

u make it seem as if floyd has come out of retirement and basically picked JMM out of the dark. bottom line is, floyd's last fight was at JMW, then he reitred. if you wanna call him out of retirement, it seems only right that you should be prepared to fight at least at WW....

he retired at welter weight, not to mention that his junior middle weight fight was only at 150, 3lbs north.

Marquez called him out, but also stated that he wouldn't fight him north of 140. What's the problem with that? That's the way these type of fights are usually made, one guy moves up a division, the other guys comes down one.

And Floyd's last fight was at welter by the way, against Hatton.

he fought oscar at JMW.....was planning to rematch oscar at the same weight.....THEN retired. he had defeated oscar for the JMW title, and was a JMW champion. he was a JMW when he retired.

The reason I don't mind seeing Pacquiao vs Floyd @ 147 is because physically Pac looked awesome. Take away the fact that people thought Oscar was drained, watch the fight again and watch how quick & patient Pac was and how hard he was hitting. JMM on the other hand hasn't had a fight above 135. Could he perform well above? Nobody knows yet. but based on youth and overall ability, Pac IMO would perform well against Floyd even at 147, because you better believe Floyd IS NOT dropping down to 140.

I UNDERSTAND JMM called floyd out but if PBF is looking to be a legend in the ring he must fight people on his level that would be in the true 147lbs division JMM all do respect is good but not great PBF remember is a class A fighter according to himself..and HATTON was a b class fighter according to mayweather JMM would fall under mayweather terms as D-class fighter due to being smaller, past his prime, happen that left hook seem to land all the time, mexican fighter style al la marg vs mosley , so I see why PBF wouldnt mind taking on JJM also FOR the record I BELIEVE JMM will lose convincently just like Wright lost to Williams JMM will get old over night

Look it up if you have to, but Mayweather's last fight was at WELTERWEIGHT. He retired after his WELTERWEIGHT championship bout against Ricky Hatton in December of '07. The De la Hoya fight was in May of '07.

according to mayweather, everybody he fights is a class below him! LOL

don't forget, this is a "comeback" fight.....

                    no need to.....you're right.

bottom line is, floyd's last 2 fights were at 154, then 147, then was gonna fight at 154 again, but he retired......he's been off for two years, and hasn't fought south of 147 since 2005.

marquez "called" floyd out, but then says, "only at a weight you haven't been at since 2005.."

like you say, fighters "give and take" when it comes to making fights.....

floyd's give, is that he's coming back off of a 2-year layoff. now he should ALSO be expected to make a wieght he hasn't fought at in 4 years???

what is marquez giving up? he's planning to move up in weight anyway!

unless jmm fights pbf at a catchweight, its pretty clear jmm was just using floyd's name to position himself a fight against pac/hatton winner.
