Okay If Pavlik would say No I won't drop weight, then at that time Floyd could say OK, well then I'll try other options. Which is EXACTLY WHERE NEGOTIATIONS are now with Floyd and JMM. How is anyone supposed to know HOW the NEGOTIATIONS are gonna turn out? Maybe Floyd accepted 140, maybe Pavlik would accept 154, the point is that JMM is trying to NEGOTIATE to FIGHT with Floyd since he is interested.

i never gave credit to pac for fighting old de la hoya. i just used him as an example that even he took more risk in fighting under de la hoya's terms than floyd

the jump that floyd is asking marquez to do is a lot more demanding than both pac/oscar and floyd/oscar

so yeah, the biggest factors here are weight and quality of opponent. de la hoya looked like a shell of himself in his last 3 fights (floyd, forbes, pac), but i'm sure that floyd won't look that way against marquez
