How can anyone dislike Paul Williams?

Interestingly enough, boxing seems to be the only sport that still has racial malice associated with it, at least with the fans. I have no idea why this is. I only presume it's because of the gruesome nature of the sport, that some fans take it personally.

That must be the reason, it takes primal instincts out of potato couches.

What sane welterweight would want to fight a guy who is really like 6'3/6'4 and has a reach of 83. Not all fighters are as elusive as Quintana. Williams has his flaws but Quintana has his number even if he was laid out on the rematch against williams. Theirs no denying boxers who move alot and create angles for Williams will always give him problems because of his long reach.

With Williams advantages like his reach, you have to fight very intelligently against him to beat him.

He used his reach in the Margarito fight pretty well early...

He definitely kept Phillips at bay with his reach.

He also used it well against Matthysse.

To be honest, he should use it more, but it's not terrible that he doesn't, because his chin is made of 100% iron, and his extremely high workrate can take him places, even fighting his opponents fight, because he is going to land a lot if he is throwing that much.

He didn't keep Phillips at bay with his reach. He fought in the pocket for large parts of the fight and pounded him to the body. He could have kept him at bay but istead just made for an exciting fight.
