Anyone can be knocked out, is it unlikely for wright to win by knock-out? Most likely he can only win by decision, but anythings possible in this sport. Williams his been hit by clean and hard shots from fights like Quintana and Margarito. It would sure look amazing on wrights resume if he was able to knock out Pwills, but it will still look just as impressive if he can win by decision.
How can anyone dislike Paul Williams?

The last fighter that Wright knocked out was named Jason Papillion... and it was in 2003. You ever heard of Papillion? I didn't think so... his record and lack of name recognition lead me to believe that he... isn't very good.Anyone can be knocked out, is it unlikely for wright to win by knock-out? Wright has always punched like a complete weiner, and this two year layoff is obviously not going to have increased the power on his punch. He is also getting older, so I can't see the power increasing with that either.
Williams has a stellar chin... I've never even seen him hurt.
I would seriously be as shocked as I possibly could be if Wright knocked Williams out.Comment

It's not as ******ed as you'd think...
I was against Margarito for a while because his fans pissed me off so much.
I got over it eventually... just let them do their thing and make fun of them for their ******ity if they show it.
I think I've gotten over hating fighters because of their fans, and it makes things easier for me in the sport.Comment

I just watched his Greatest Hits on HBO on Demand and the guy is obviously exciting. He throws a zillion punches, and has been showing something new and exciting in every fight in his last few.
He beats an undefeated power puncher in Matthysse, getting his first big showcase on HBO.
He beats Sharmba Mitchell, really showing that he knows how to put punches in effective combination, and not just throwing in bunches wildly.
He beats Margarito, where he takes his first step up, and shows a terrific chin.
He loses to Quintana.
He beats Quitnana in a rematch where he shows insane power for the first time.
He moves up to 160 and shows that he has power there in a first round KO against a guy who has one previous loss, and that is to Andre Ward... the worst criticism you can give to Ande Kolle is untested.
He drops down to 154 and shows that he has an absolutely murderous body attack.
In addition, he is easily one of the most gracious people in the sport in his post-fight interviews. I was really impressed by what he had to say after the Verno Phillips fight, and even more impressed by his lack of excuses in the Quintana fight. All he said was, I never got into my rhythm, and I'm sure he knew damn well that Quintana's movement and what not was at the very least, a partial cause of that.
Finally, I know a lot of people are tired of hearing this ducking thing that Williams fans are doing, but... I have never heard Williams complain about being ducked. The closest thing to it was when Kellerman asked him point blank about fighting some of the big names, and he was just like, "I mean, we've talked to a lot of them, they don't want to fight", and left it at that.
My favorite boxer in the world is probably going to get curbstomped by him this weekend, and if anyone is going to end Wright's career, and use his name to propel himself into further prominence, I can't think of anyone else I would rather do it than Paul Williams, because he is a class act, and is willing to do whatever he needs to in an effort to further himself in the sport.
Seriously, what is your criticism of him if you don't like him? I'm kind of curious to know.
Weezy,
i was just having this discussion with Warp.
The biggest criticisms of Floyd has been that he is
1) braggadocious
2) doesn't take on the biggest challenges
Well, here's a guy who is not a braggart, and he happily took on Margarito at 147, Winky at 160, and he genuinely called out Shane. Those are among the toughest challenges you can make.
I just think that Paul is scary and guys on here know that he would demolish (insert their favourite fighter here).Comment

I don't know though... he's about to kill my favorite fighter, and I'll be happier for him than I would anyone else who would take Wright apart.
Williams is a humble guy who will fight anyone, and does it in an exciting manner. I just seriously see 0 reason why anyone could dislike him.Comment
