How can anyone dislike Paul Williams?

Yeah... I mean, I'm not going to be overly upset if he goes out at his age after an eternity long layoff.
I do think Williams would have always given him problems because he has never been terrific against volume punchers, but...
A lot of really respected posters on here are giving Wright a good chance, so I hope I'm missing big pieces of the puzzle and Wright is going to take it down.Comment

Thats right, its hard to be fan of anyone between 147-160,because the Punisher is lurking around everybend!!I'M a fan of the Punisher and just curious to know,"HOW CAN SOMEONE BE A FAN OF BOTH,the Punisher and Floyd, when they are nothing alike"!!Floyd will absolutely in no way fight,if there is a chance that he sees himself loosing,The Punisher on the other hand would probably fight Cotto,Clottey and MOSLEY on the same night!!!!!!!!Comment

People shouldn't dislike Paul Williams. He is too big for welterweight, but he's moving up anyway, so it doesn't matter.
I think he will be involved in some great fights in the years to come!

I like Paul Williams. He could use his height and jab his way to victory but he elects to fight in close which makes for good fights.Comment

i like williams, but his fans on here r ridiculous,i mean the serious nuthuggersI just watched his Greatest Hits on HBO on Demand and the guy is obviously exciting. He throws a zillion punches, and has been showing something new and exciting in every fight in his last few.
He beats an undefeated power puncher in Matthysse, getting his first big showcase on HBO.
He beats Sharmba Mitchell, really showing that he knows how to put punches in effective combination, and not just throwing in bunches wildly.
He beats Margarito, where he takes his first step up, and shows a terrific chin.
He loses to Quintana.
He beats Quitnana in a rematch where he shows insane power for the first time.
He moves up to 160 and shows that he has power there in a first round KO against a guy who has one previous loss, and that is to Andre Ward... the worst criticism you can give to Ande Kolle is untested.
He drops down to 154 and shows that he has an absolutely murderous body attack.
In addition, he is easily one of the most gracious people in the sport in his post-fight interviews. I was really impressed by what he had to say after the Verno Phillips fight, and even more impressed by his lack of excuses in the Quintana fight. All he said was, I never got into my rhythm, and I'm sure he knew damn well that Quintana's movement and what not was at the very least, a partial cause of that.
Finally, I know a lot of people are tired of hearing this ducking thing that Williams fans are doing, but... I have never heard Williams complain about being ducked. The closest thing to it was when Kellerman asked him point blank about fighting some of the big names, and he was just like, "I mean, we've talked to a lot of them, they don't want to fight", and left it at that.
My favorite boxer in the world is probably going to get curbstomped by him this weekend, and if anyone is going to end Wright's career, and use his name to propel himself into further prominence, I can't think of anyone else I would rather do it than Paul Williams, because he is a class act, and is willing to do whatever he needs to in an effort to further himself in the sport.
Seriously, what is your criticism of him if you don't like him? I'm kind of curious to know.Comment
