Has The Media Overblown The Antonio Margarito Scandal?

How about you try getting hit with plaster for 11 rounds, *******. Margarito deserves more than a year ban but i hope it doesnt happen beacause i want Cotto to beat the ***** out this chumpComment

Sorry my friend. I am not a Cotto fan but the fighter is responsible. He made the attempt. Thank goodness he was caught. Being caught should not work in his favor. Ban him for life. No place for that in the sport and the sport needs to take a stand.Comment

This is "everything" that is WRONG with boxing. Margarito has put a huge black eye on the sport that didn't need it. With all the existing problems it already had, the last thing boxing needed was a flat our 'cheater'. You may not like it, but that is what Margarito is. Ask Cotto if a 1 year ban is all that Margarito should get. Ask Kermit Cintron. Hey, there is no "proof" that Margarito used loaded gloves against these 2 undefeated champions but I have to wonder. Am I really to believe that the Mosely fight was the first time he tried to use them? I don't think so. So, Cotto and Cintron lost fights that clearly changed the course of their careers. They lost fame, a lot of money, and some boxing cred along the way. The lost all of this to the man who we now know is a cheater. Margarito should be banned from the sport. Here is the real deal. If someone accused me of doing something I didn't do...or know about, I would clearly and loudly defend myself by saying "I didn't do it and I don't know anything about it". Those are the words we would hear from Margarito is he was the "innocent" fighter who didn't know anything was going on. However, when one is guilty and involved, you hear things like "you'll have to talk to my lawyer". What have you heard from Margarito? Enough said. He's a cheater who is guilty. He's a cheater who has negatively impacted the careers of other fighters. He a cheater, plain and simple. Boxing does not need another cheater in the ranks. I hope Margarito never boxes again. He had his chance and blew it. There is no room for him in the sport. As for Bob Arum and his most interesting way of handling this mess, well...let's just say I'm losing respect. It's not gone yet, but I'm losing it. As for Margarito, it's gone. He's a bum and a cheat!
I just find it "very hard" to believe that a fighter that's been boxing since the tender age of 15 doesn't know or doesn't want to know what's in his gloves.
I got anhe ass has been cheating.

margo needs to totally separate himself from capetillo and he also needs to take a lie detector test to prove he was ignorant and negligent about the plaster.
capetillo needs to take sole responsibility about the plaster and stop lying about it. he also needs to confess to all the times that he's put plaster in margo's gloves.
if margo is ignorant and negligent and capetillo confesses to total responsibilty beyond all doubt, then and only then will I even consider that margo deserves another shot at boxing.
otherwise margo can fight forever in obscurity in TJ.Comment

Honestly I don't believe enough has been done about this. I would feel much better if a full investigation went into this scandal.
I believe he went to desperation mode after the PWill bout. Cintron match was truly a career breaking match. If he would have lost, his career would be pretty much over. Then he landed Cotto and it became the highest profile match ever for him.
If your going to cheat against an aging and slowed down Mosley who barely got past Mayorga, why would you not cheat against two young champions who were undefeated and taking the division by storm? Say what you will about Cintron, but I think the two beatings severely damaged his career. And we'll see about Cotto after the Clottey fight.
To say Cotto quit is premature and ridiculous. If Marg did infact have plaster during that fight, Cotto absorbed 11 rounds of hits and if research comes to me at the moment, then as more moisture and water mixes in with those elements it gets harder and harder. So if that is the case, Cotto is more man than anybody for taking that. And he can take solace to the fact that he was never knocked down. And Cintron too...he took quite a beating.
But I cannot pass full judgement yet since it has never been confirmed. I would like an investigation to finally lay this to rest. It's hard to not think otherwise though. Its a shame, I liked Margs ruggednessComment

One thing is being loyal and another is being ******, if I'm Innocent of some thing like that I will be screaming and fighting back, I will fired Capetillo and do anything to make sure people believe me, but the problem is that he hasn't done none of that, what makes him guilty, plus people forget that those blocks had some old blood stains wish make me believe that he used those before.Comment
