Has The Media Overblown The Antonio Margarito Scandal?

Honestly I don't believe enough has been done about this. I would feel much better if a full investigation went into this scandal.

I believe he went to desperation mode after the PWill bout. Cintron match was truly a career breaking match. If he would have lost, his career would be pretty much over. Then he landed Cotto and it became the highest profile match ever for him.

If your going to cheat against an aging and slowed down Mosley who barely got past Mayorga, why would you not cheat against two young champions who were undefeated and taking the division by storm? Say what you will about Cintron, but I think the two beatings severely damaged his career. And we'll see about Cotto after the Clottey fight.

To say Cotto quit is premature and ridiculous. If Marg did infact have plaster during that fight, Cotto absorbed 11 rounds of hits and if research comes to me at the moment, then as more moisture and water mixes in with those elements it gets harder and harder. So if that is the case, Cotto is more man than anybody for taking that. And he can take solace to the fact that he was never knocked down. And Cintron too...he took quite a beating.

But I cannot pass full judgement yet since it has never been confirmed. I would like an investigation to finally lay this to rest. It's hard to not think otherwise though. Its a shame, I liked Margs ruggedness

margarito shouldnt even be talked about anymore.hes irrelevent,just like this article.no lie detector test and no amount of pleading is going to justify what he did. he cheated and no one can sugarcoat that.he tarnished hes whole carrer,and even more so almost single handidly tarnnished mexican boxing.after this happened a lot of other mexican fighters carrers came into question,so if you ask me i say banned this idiot for life,and his idiot trainer as well.

Trinidad's hands were not "wrapped illegally" this has become another "urban myth". One hand had been wrapped, perfectly legally" BEFORE the opposing rep had got there so he chose the issue to make a fuss and have the hands re-wrapped. They were wrapped exactly the very same way and were LEGAL. Papa Trinidad later gave a complete demo on a video as to how he always wraps his gloves. The whole story of Trinidad's "illegal" wraps is crip-crap, and deserves to be shoveled into the dung pile with others. Of course it won't.

Margarito made a huge mistake that made all of us lose a lot of respect for him although we dont know if he knew about the plaster or not. chances are that he probably did though but i wont say we know for certain! Margarito should just serve his 1 year suspension worldwide and if he's innocent about not knowing then bash capetillo go to every huge media source and tell them ur innocent. if he does that he'll be back in a year and could perhaps regain some peoples respect
