I am just thinking that if this is a situation where they are both drunk or are surprised and it comes down to relying on instincts that the boxer has his punches ingrained in him better from better practice where as the seal guy has never had to use his holds in real life situations and might have to take that split second to think about it and by then it could be over.

exactly. If it's a wide open space the boxer wins because he uses footwork to dance around any take down attempts while simultaneously knocking the **** out of the seal. If it's super enclosed environment boxer still wins because there's no room for the seal to take the boxer down in so they end up just fighting in a phone booth where boxers once again excel adn the boxer just KTFO the seal with uppercuts.

for you dumbasses sleeping on boxers watch this video where a turkish boxer owns 10 guys in a street fight all whilst using footwork and backing up at the same time as throwing punches knocking guys unconscious left and right:

It's just another one of those questions that comes under the ''it depends'' category.

added punching speed equals added punching power..but i still say navy Seal, unless the boxer is Tyson..hehhe

no. a navy seal has a knife, gun, ground skill, martial arts. and they can hear yyou so yer not sneaking up. be real. they teach you WHERE to stab in the SEAL program. you think anyone without combat trainging would even know where to defend? no way. slice that liver, pancrease and the arterial in your femur before you could say King hippo

The boxer would need to be a puncher, and finish fast. Like someone mentioned though, the hand-to-hand combat abilities of most military personnel are overrated. He would likely have at least decent grappling skills though, so it's somewhat of a toss up, probably decided in the first few moments. If any weapons are involved, obviously it's over.
