Nowhere near as hurt? He had bonefractures in his face, was pissing blood after the fight, and his career was ruined after that. He was never the same fighter after the Chavez fight for Christ sake! Bute already defended his title and looked really good doing it too.
Get the *** outta here with that ****!
I'm not talking about physical damage in terms of his face. So you get the *** outta here. Andrade could barely stand and only a bias mark for Chavez would claim Taylor was in that type of condition when the fight was stopped. BTW Taylor won the welterweight crown by beating Aaron Davis after the Chavez fight. Davis was unbeaten and had knocked out Mark Breland. And Taylor looked good doing so too.
Two seconds when the actual time keeper stopped the fight.
5 seconds going into 4 is when it was actually stopped by the ref.
and you're going to have to watch Mosley Mayorga one more time to see what can happen with 5 seconds left on the clock.
Chavez doesn't punch like Shane Mosley and that's not the point anyway. The fight should not have been stopped whether it was 2 seconds,4, or 5. Anybody who thinks Chavez would have scored a one punch KO in that time frame is reaching.
Doesn't matter how he punches.
He could have still landed another damaging blow, just as Mosley did.
lol your last statement.
I guess its reaching when its already been proved that a final damaging blow can be landed withing 5 seconds.

To be fair Taylor first went onto get destroyed by Terry Norris in a futile attempt at a 154 lb championship and came back down to lose the mediocre Crisanto Espana at 147 lbs.
Taylor was still good although diminished after the first Chavez bout but the idiotic move to challenge Terry Norris ruined him completely.

I remember that fight Taylor for some reason decides to bust out his cheetah shorts... not a good look at all.
Its very possible, Chavez battered many fighter's faces not just Taylor's, his close relationship with Marg, surely he probably knew Marg was using, their friends. Its very possible.
so then its very safe to say that any successful african american boxer used steroids?
The stoppage was complete, utter bull****. I don't like conspiracy theories, but two letters are enough... DK.
That being said Taylor should have won the fight, but Chavez clearly won the war.
To blackirish: there was no need for an immediate rematch. From the point of view of Taylor's health, the stoppage was good, because without it, we would have certainly got the rematch. Taylor was done that night. He could never be a fighter to beat Chavez again. Chavez took it out of him.
All Taylor had to do was answer a simple question from the ref to make sure he is ok which HE FAILED TO DO SO TWICE! It's the Refs job to stop it that point no matter if there is 2 minutes left in the round or 1 second left in the round. So many damn hypocrites here. If Chavez would have landed one last right hand and killed Taylor people would have screaming at Steele asking why he didnt stop the ****ing fight when he couldnt even answer him!!!!!!! Steele made the correct call i dont care if it had been Chavez in the same situation!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. He put Steele in a bad position. And like BlackIrish said, there was actually 5 seconds left in the fight. Plenty of time for Chavez to get one more clean shot in to put his lights out for good. We all saw what Mosley did to Mayorga...i still remember being in the bar watching and yelling at the TV after the first knockdown that they should stop the fight. the guy next to me says "why, there's only 3 seconds left, what could happen....."*Mosley decks Mayorga with one punch*, i then respond "that"
