I have this weird feeling that once Manny goes down, it will be over...

Oscar has a great jab but Pacquiao was either blocking it with his gloves, or was bobbing and weaving, or move out of harm's way by stepping aside. Even Floyd, a great defensive boxer that he is, couldn't avoid Oscar's jabs, until Oscar mysteriously decided to do away with in the latter rounds. Oscar's body punches was being intercepted by Manny's elbows all night long, and his vaunted left hook? He was whiffing all night.

... and FWIW, speed is one of the vital ingredients to a great defense, I'm not saying Pacman has a great defense, but he's improved by leaps and bounds since the Barrera I...
Manny has improved but so has Hatton. Oscar was definitely out classed in their fight because of his lack of speed & just coming forward without letting his hands go & became an easy target for Manny's speed. Hatton will not give Manny this pleasure. Oscar was at a bigger weight with Floyd & in better
condition than the Manny fight (Not taking nothing away from Manny) but we all know that the Oscar that fought PBF/Manny were two different Oscar's. Floyd took Oscar's jab away. Anyways, speed is a good substitue for minimal to NO defense but it's good to have a lil defensive game plan especially fighting a game natural 140 pounder with pop, decent speed & pressure like Ricky Hatton.

I wasn't implying that, I'm just rebutting your response that Manny has no defense at all, and he's there to be hit all night...

Oscar was more than holding his own against Pacquiao in the earlier rounds when it comes to punch output, there was even a round where he out threw Pacquiao, but the difference was, he couldn't find the TARGET. Oscar tried to pick his spots and decided to counterpunch Pacman in the middle rounds, but to no avail. Pacman was teeing off when Oscar abandoned his jab.

I'm still saying that this fight will be a toss-up. although I'm leaning to a 55-45 chance for Pacquiao to take it, although I'm not discounting a Hatton win either...

Actually, my odds got wider this time, I started out at 52-48, just like how they will split the loot. But as the fight draws nearer, it's more like I'm leaning to Pacquiao more. My take could be more wider come fight night, and I based my take on how both boxers' training camp has been coming along...

interesting...i just look at how vegas odds go....when it first opened it was a 3-1 pac advantage...now it close to 2-1 pac....now it will either do 3 things, one stay the same, b. it will go back to the original spread as when ot strated, or c even tighten up to almost even money.....but i think it will actually go back up to 3-1....i have it as percentages at 55-45 pac....when it first started in my mind it was about 60-40

I can't find any Ricky Hatton article that describes his sparring partners or his sparring sessions. I know it is harder to get a Pacquiao clone type of partner that will try to emulate Pacman's style, and I'm sure you've read a lot of Pacman's sparring sessions with boxers of different styles. That's why I'm tilting towards Pacman as of this late...

i think hatton's team is keeping that secret...and i think his assitant trainer lee beard is in control of that...hatton did say at the la presser he was sparring earlier in fights that when he usually does...but thats all he said....and i;ve seen in clips these real skinny guys in like work out gear around hatton's gym before he left.....but the bottom line i dont think pac or hatton can really get a guy to imitate the other ones style....bot these guys r rare breeds in my book

Ricky has actually been sparring in Vegas with Erislandy Lara, who is a quick, strong, light middleweight, with a solid left hand. I've only seen brief glimpses of him, but he looks like a decent, skillful fighter and makes a good sparring partner for Ricky.

                    Some pics:

                    Ricky's looking in great shape..
