This fight will not be a defensive fight, it will be a slug fest & that I am sure of. Manny doesn't use much defense & neither does Hatton so it will come down to them seeing who takes the best and most flush power shots. Manny's fast but Hatton is fast as well & I think he will be on Manny, not giving him time to get into his rythm and Hatton's jab is dangerous. Manny has a chance to win for sure but I have to go with my gut & pick Hatton but if Manny wins I will be one of the first on here to give him his props.

Because he has sub-par footwork and he needs to be planted to throw power shots which makes the jab not so useful. I still see Hatton eating left hands coming in and then coming out too. Pacquiao will start cautious like with Oscar but when Hatton folds, even if just a litttle bit, Pacquiao will be all over him, trust it!
i agree with a lot of what you said...but the big difference is rick ywill fight back...hes made a carear of taking ugly shots and keep the pressure coming...oscar had the deer in the head lights look....i see ricky when he gets hit, just keep pressuring pac....pac is going to have to win this on his defense like floyd beat hatton

and avoid him by boxing in/out then Pacquiao is going to lose bottom line.
Ricky is not going to be afraid to take the fight to Manny & being that
he feels he is the man to beat he has a lot more to lose & I think that will
make him more focused than ever.
Pacquiao has relatively no defense & is pretty much there to be hit & Hatton is not as fast as Manny but he is fast & has good power and I think Manny won't be able to totally out box Hatton for 12rds. To beat a fighter like Ricky, DEFENSE is the way to do it not power & that's why his only loss is from a defensive technician, not a speedy, decent power puncher because Hatton already proved that he can take a punch & cut the ring off. Manny is not a skilled counter puncher & will have to exchange punches with Hatton & I give the edge to Ricky.
LMAO!!!
Pac's has no defense???

Like Oscar said "I saw them coming but couldn't avoid them... Too fast" Can you honestly see Hatton coming forward while eating Pacquiao's kind of leather? Make no mistake, those punches will NOT be hitting the gloves.Last edited by GRUSTLER; 04-04-2009, 05:07 AM.

believe may not be what you believe so we agree to disagree.
I like Manny but not totally sold on him & I don't know why because I do enjoy watching him fight but he has showed he is subject to get hit by big shots and all it does is take that one punch & I feel Hatton has that power
to drop Manny where his prior challenges couldn't. Look how JMM had him in them fights? They were just slugging it out with JMM being the more
technical of the two? I see Manny as being fast & offensive, not so much technical or defensive. He's going to fight Hatton's fight. The pressure will make him do that.Last edited by GRUSTLER; 04-04-2009, 05:19 AM.

I think it will be war with both guys probably goin' down at least once.....I expect blood, drama and for Hatton's reign at 140 come to an end.....a brutal end!.......I think Manny's toughness and strength is bein' underrated, but Ricky will find out that Manny is no "push-over" on the inside......Ricky's ONLY chance to win is on the inside.......the fire he'll have to take to get there will burn the flesh off his face.......really!.......Pac by TKO!

His offense is so effective that's why most people overlook his defense. He's improved a lot through the years as you can see from his last two fights. Oscar has a great jab but Pacquiao was either blocking it with his gloves, or was bobbing and weaving, or move out of harm's way by stepping aside. Even Floyd, a great defensive boxer that he is, couldn't avoid Oscar's jabs, until Oscar mysteriously decided to do away with it in the latter rounds. Oscar's body punches was being intercepted by Manny's elbows all night long, and his vaunted left hook? He was whiffing all night.
... and FWIW, speed is one of the vital ingredients to a great defense, I'm not saying Pacman has a great defense, but he's improved by leaps and bounds since the Barrera I...Last edited by gopi11; 04-04-2009, 05:46 AM.
