hypothetically, if floyd were to fight prime pernell, floyd would land more shots, and pernell would simply expend more energy moving around like a drunk trying to avoid floyds fast ass hands
Whitaker has fought fast handed fighters, he never had trouble with them. Guys like Nelson, Jones, Pendleton had pretty fast hands, not as fast as Judah's but not many people can match Judah's speed, not even Mayweather. He never fought guys who were as slick as him because there is no one in the history of the sport who is as slick as him aside from Willie Pep.

I'm not saying Judah wouldn't have given Whitaker trouble for about 4 rounds, once he begins to fade, Whitaker would take over, very similarly to how the Mayweather fight went, except even more one sided.

    Right.......

        People are tripping.

Mayweather is the better boxer, but Pernell has done more.

But I would favour PBF over Pernell

Sweet Pea was more flashy and entertaining but I think Mayweather is the better boxer. Mayweather doesn't bring the entertainment that Whitaker did and he also hasn't accomplished as much. On boxing skill alone I'd say Mayweather is better but not by a whole lot.

It'd be an entertaining fight - but probably the lowest punch-landed total in history. PBF would run, or do his best limbo and Sweet Pea would do too much show-boating. I'd watch it.

Short answer - no. PW would frustrate and confuse PBF.

how the hell would we know it?

you're talking about two very good , very big welterweights.

maybe even as good as the great carlos baldomir and super zab judah.......

floyd has to squeeze out a close decision against a past prime delahoya......and all of a sudden a prime oscar couldn't beat floyd? lmao

Floyd's the more complete fighter. 140 and under Floyd could knock guys out. Pernell never really had power. One on one I'd favor Floyd. Pernell may have fought better opposition though...
