It helped Calzaghe stay undefeated even though I believe he should have lost to the more efficient and accurate fighter in Hopkins.Comment

Yeah i agree. Compubox stats show Jones landed 54%(That's a lot) of his power punches on Calzaghe, That was ignored because of Calzaghe work rate. I see a lot of GIF's of the Jones/Calzaghe, Hopkins Calzaghe fights where Calzaghe is doing flurries but only hitting the air. Those same flurries are what get people all hyped and think Calzaghe is whooping ass when in reality he's going at it with the air infront of his opponent. Compubox can't see that so imagine fans and judges.Comment

Hopkins fought a negative fight. You can win on workrate when your opponent is moving and clinching all night. Hopkins barely threw punches.
I laugh when people score the (7th?) round for Hopkins when he gets clearly outboxed for 90% of the round until the last seconds when he lands one clean punch. One clean punch doesnt win you a round. And every Hopkins fan scores that round for him.Comment

If one fighter is not throwing many punches then obviously the other fighter's workrate is helping him control the fight and giving the other fighter problems so why shouldn't it win you a fight?
Workrate and stamina is a skill, it gives people problems because they can't keep up with it so i don't see why they should win a fight for not being good enough to keep up with someones fast pace.Comment

there is no doubt in MY mind Hopkins LOST that fight, he hardly threw any punches all fcuking night he was ultra negative and defencive, you SHOULDN'T win a fight throwing as little as he did in that fight.
I don't care how many of his opponents punches landed on his gloves, the aggressive fighter usually wins unless the defencive fighter is repeatedly landing impressive counters, BHop wasn't throwing counters, he wasn't throwing ANYTHING! to use Larryx's maths.
If a fighter throws 200 punches and lands 30 but the other fight throws 20 and lands 19, the guy throwing 200 is going to win the round because he landed almost double the punches the other guy did.
That happened round after round after round omn the Cal Vs Hopkins fight because Hopkins was asleep for most of it.Comment

That one straight left that opened the cut in Jones' eye in the 7 is what makes people think Roy got totally outclassed. He got outworked, Nothing special.Calzaghe beat the **** out of Roy. I dont know where you saw him hitting air.

Hopkins def won that fight. There's no doubt. Calzaghe ain't land **** on Hopkins.
Edit: Hopkins was catching Calzaghe with clean counter rights all night.Comment

the only way to score a fight is if punches are scored, but judges have been scoring fights based on workrate because they want boxers to be more offensive and less defensive.Comment
