'Effective workrate' It doesn't mean just swing and miss it has to take the other guy off his game and help you control the fight.
I know what you are sayin though, true sometimes ppl get rounds for nothing it's just hard for them to see every punch from ringside.Comment

Well yeah. To be neutral, I guess I should've said "you guys".
I would normally agree with that logic, but for me the thing is - if the guy who's blocking isn't actually throwing anything and standing there, whilst his opponent is coming forward and throwing mainly blocked and a couple of landed punches, I tend to score for the latter because I'm a workrate kinda guy. If the defensive fighter is blocking 'em well, that's cool, but he himself has to throw something meaningful as well; otherwise I just can't give him the round.
Specific fights aren't really coming to me right now, but it was just a tangent thought on the OP. I'm sure everyone has their own weird way of scoring.Comment

Larry, If the 3 judges for the Hopkins/Calzaghe fight saw things your way, Hopkins would have won a UD by scores of 120-108 on all 3 cards. Calzaghe didn't land one significant punch in the whole fight. Just hit air all night and won for his work rate.Comment
