      Oscar - Pernell

If you counted punches that landed. Pernell would have won and should have won. Those late round flurries were bull****

'Effective workrate' It doesn't mean just swing and miss it has to take the other guy off his game and help you control the fight.

I know what you are sayin though, true sometimes ppl get rounds for nothing it's just hard for them to see every punch from ringside.

unless it's an impressive block, dodge, defence is suppossed to be scored aint it?
I would normally agree with that logic, but for me the thing is - if the guy who's blocking isn't actually throwing anything and standing there, whilst his opponent is coming forward and throwing mainly blocked and a couple of landed punches, I tend to score for the latter because I'm a workrate kinda guy. If the defensive fighter is blocking 'em well, that's cool, but he himself has to throw something meaningful as well; otherwise I just can't give him the round.

Specific fights aren't really coming to me right now, but it was just a tangent thought on the OP. I'm sure everyone has their own weird way of scoring.

Larry, If the 3 judges for the Hopkins/Calzaghe fight saw things your way, Hopkins would have won a UD by scores of 120-108 on all 3 cards. Calzaghe didn't land one significant punch in the whole fight. Just hit air all night and won for his work rate.
