Why does Floyd get the blame for the Cotto fight never happening?

He did say he would love to fight just about every great fighter there has been in the last forever, and a lot of them didn't come off.
He said he would love to fight Winky Wright when he was at 140... do you really think he would have loved to move up to 154 to fight a huge and really skilled junior middleweight at that point? I doubt it. If he would have loved to... he's kind of dumb in my opinion. That's just not a smart fight to take at that point.
The bout wasnt finalized because Wright wanted a 50-50 split.
and he didn't agree to floyd's demand for 2 weigh ins.
Winky wanted a 50/50 split? Crazy!!!!!
Floyd Mayweather: Before that we tried to put the Winky Wright fight together but Winky sounds ridiculous talking about he wants 50-50. Realize this, he's fought fifty something fights and he never saw a million. He finally saw his million in the second fight with Shane Mosley and now he's demanding 50-50

I do remember Cotto saying he is going to go on with his career and not wait around. I know the interview you are talking about. My problem with that is he never made any noise about fighting Floyd in the first place. Both guys always seemed fairly complacent about the fight not happening.Comment

Mayweather told Brian Kenny in an ESPN interview. Asked about Cotto: "He hasnn't called me out. He doesen't want to fight. If he wants to fight me i'm here, i am m.r. HBO himself If he wants to talk to anyone talk to me."
That was after the Oscar De La Hoya fight when Mayweather was about to sign for a rematch with DLH. Too bad i don't find the video anymore on youtube. but those who saw it or if you can find it you should post it up here for Floyd haters.
Floyd said something like "I am Cotto's boss..if he wants to fight me say something..I never heard the man say my name"Comment

I don't really think Mayweather ducked him... I think he wanted more money with Oscar, and retired because he was tired of the sport... I mean, ****, he turned down the biggest payday of his career to retire.
I also don't think he's coming back. I don't know why he would at this point... he passed up the biggest payday possible, so why would he come back?Comment

i kno what you mean but mayweather also didnt seem like if he wanted to fight cotto either. Cotto though on some interviews says mayweather always makind excuses on why not to fight him. Cotto just didnt wanna give floyd the satisfaction by calling him out he felt like he didnt have to and also he said he wasnt going to wait around for him that he can continue his career with or without himComment
