Why does Floyd get the blame for the Cotto fight never happening?

No that is not what happened. I assume you guys are talking about the end of the Jennings fight. Kellerman asked him who he wanted next and before he could even answer, Kellerman said "and don't say I'll fight who they put in front of me". He then made a comment about if Mayweather was to come out of retirement would you fight him and Cotto hesitantly said sure, I would fight him. Kellerman was then like, Floyd, if you are watching on TV......blah, blah.

The point is Kellerman put the words into Cotto's mouth and I think it is not Cotto's style to talk smack. If they never fought, it was due to his management team on Cotto's side of things.

I'm not talking about after the Jennings fight....man you KNOW that!!!!!

I am talking about after the MOSELY and Gomez fights...BEFORE he retired.

THAT is when Kellerman and Merchant asked Cotto POINT BLANK about fighting Mayweather.

Both time he AVOIDED the question.

I'm not saying that he should have chased Cotto. I just wanted to see the fight and think people are wrong to say Floyd ducked Cotto.

in other words "I'm gonna retire cause I dont want Cotto to send me into retirement" That's what I heard.

pbf ducked all the questions when it came to fight Cotto after both had successfully defended the WW crowns at the end of '07.

Then pbf unretired after Cotto had signed to fight Wrapacheato. go figure.

If he does end up coming back & Cotto gets thru Clottey & the winner or hatton-pacman or Mosley, pbf will still say the say old crap that there is doesnt make $$$$ sense for him.

Only Cotto will get pbf is to go to his home knock on the door and slap the **** out of pbf & say "fight me, you puss"

Then he said he has to become a ceo and all that. Also zab hit mayweather alot of times in the fight especially the first four rounds and even knocked mayweather down but they didnt call it. Just cause someone got hit more by someone else doesnt mean they could beat them or not. I just remembered him asking the same thing after the Jennings fight and he was trying to coax Cotto into calling PBF out. I did not stop to think that the whole thread was about before Floyd's retirement.
