There could be potential for a rematch, but obviously it will have to be soon because Barrera isn't getting any younger.

Freddie Roach, like ****m Richardson is very strict with the gloves issue.

Roach and Schaeffer nearly came to blows during Pac-Delahoya (gloves issue, plastic on DLH's thumb, etc.)

It wouldn't be best for Barrera. He is good for two or three reasonably high profile and rewarding fights against the right opposition, but if he lost to Khan again it would be game over. The first loss can be brushed aside because of the controversy, but not a second. And the odds are even more in Khan's favour than they were before the first fight.

I just don't get why those crying 'rematch' ignore the the fact that neither Barrera or King have asked for one. Maybe they know something you don't, or at least can't accept? They don't think Barrera would win.
I for one don't want to see a rematch, as I don't want to see Barrera embarassed... and that's exactly what I think will happen. If he has to rematch anybody, make it Prescott.

i also dont want to see Barrera go out embarrassed or in the way he did in this khan fight, thing is i think he will win a rematch and would have won that minus the cuts, id love a rematch but id also be happy to see him go on and win a title or, i think we can expect both to happen starting with the rematch in 4 to 6 months when he is heeld

Khan boxed like he was back at the olympics, pitty-pat, in out, your not going to beat Barrera like that (minus cut) you need to gain his respect, sooner or later Marco would have cut the ring off and hunted the clown down

Best redemption would be to fight a slow Lightweight like David Diaz, who I believe he could still beat handily. I think he's slowed too much to be fighting fast athletic young fighters.

Although one can't be certain what would have happened if there had been no cut, I'm pretty sure it would have been a wide UD for Khan; and if there were a rematch, he'd have had more time to improve further under Roach, and Barrera if anything will have slowed down still more. I don't think it would be good for him to be humiliated in a very wide UD. But I agree that Khan should offer him the opportunity.
