Barrera Likely To Continue, 30 Stitches To The Cut

According to Jorge Barrera, brother of Marco Antonio Barrera, the former three division champion is likely to continue with his career. Last Saturday in Manchester, Barrera lost a five round technical decision to UK lightweight star Amir Khan. Barrera suffered a very deep cut in the first round and the ringside doctor would not allow the fight to beyond the midway point of the fifth. Right now Marco is going on a vacation with his wife and family. When he returns, he will sit down with his team and map out their next move [details]

Id like to know exactly what that altercation with Roach was all about, i agree that a rematch would be best all round. Give Marco a 6 week training camp and Khan goes home in a body bag

Like a true warrior with any pride should(even though some may say he lost that with his previous fights).

If I was somewhat of a national hero in my profession, there's no way in **** I'm gonna just give it up because my last fight was ended on cuts.

You could see the frustration in his face in the post fight ringside interview.

It wasn't a sad look of "man I'm finished"

It was a frustrated look of "god damnit, THIS is the way I could possibly end my career? **** this!"

If there was no cut and he had been demolished by nothing else but the hands of Khan, I'm sure he would happily hang em up as he could without a doubt say that he was bested by the better man.

I think that's possibly why he started saying things like "I couldn't even feel his punches", because he felt in his mind that he could've pulled something off later on in the fight.

If he quits now, even though he could probably end up being better off because of it, he'll have a lot of regrets and "what if"s for the rest of his life.

Juan Gonzalez is a good dude. I've never seen him get in any jazz with anyone, so if he did, its a safe bet that he had a damn good reason.

FYI, Juan is the guy interpreting for Barerra in the post fight interview at ringside

don king(the wire haired wonder, quote from pedro) and frank warren(the white don king) i'm sure had things all worked out before the first bell rang.
expect a moneymaking rematch! either before or after the improved khan rematches prescott. both of these guys are an easier fight than a legit top 10 ten for khan.
and you know warrens going to milk khan.

king has 5 more fights with barrera. barreras going to be around for a while!
