to the press, making his "win" seem legit. It's not. Simple as that.

Anyone who supports this is basically supporting corruption in boxing, and personally, it's hard for me to see them as a true fan of the sport.

first class post and on the money. No we dont know what would have happened without the cut but we do know for sure that Barrera would not have been stopped in round 5. As the fight went on its fair to say Barrera would have got into it....disgusting and if there is no rematch, one of boxings most ridiculous fixes of recent years...i can hear Frank Warren now "It needs to get to round 5, make it happen".

It's not out of context at all when you look at the context Khan is referring to when he says "I proved everyone wrong".

His biggest criticisms were that he was a hype job who wont fight big punchers and has a glass jaw/****ty defence.

What did he prove different with this fight? He fought a past prime lightweight who is very small by most peoples standards and wobbled slightly from a hook that landed on his gloves and got taken off balance by a right that glanced off of his cheek and didn't have an opportunity to have his chin checked so no real progress there.

          Wasn't much proving at all.

If he means he proved everyone wrong by winning the fight, I'm not even going there.

I will watch the interview again,I was a bit pissed at the time, but I do recall him saying that, but not along the lines of it was a great win, because it clearly wasnt.Only 2 things were proven in the short time the fight was competitive.
1.Khan has shown some balls and some improvement(or is that 3 things?)

2.Barrera isnt completely shot as was suggested beforehand.

A rematch is still a very good fight for Khan, and he should take it,but that cut is going to take quite a while to heal.

The fight not being stopped before the 4th round is Barrera's fault.....no one elses.

And if Barrera did say to the ref stop the fight, you'd be calling him a quiter! He cant win either way.

The ref and the ringside doctor are to blame. They should have obviously understood the cut was to much of an unfair disadvantage and stopped the fight, after the first or second round. Barrera is a warrior. I aint ever had anything against Khan but after his easy remark i cant wait to see him get sparked again! I'd love to see a rematch in Vegas.

mab was robbed of a NC, i agree. a rematch could clear things up, but mab might choose to fight someone a lil bit slower next time.

Warren has far too much influence, i really think that apart from knocking this kid cold Marco was never going to walk away from Manchester with a win. I was at the weigh in and it was embarrassing seeing all the officials for the fight, like ****ing yes men they were. I do not see this as a win for Khan.

                      You're right.

I suppose a boxer getting a cut that should've stopped the fight by most people with a brains opinion, but didn't stop the fight until 40 seconds after it could be declared a win for the other boxer is nothing for anyone to really look into.

Anyone who does probably is just bitter etc.
